The orange flat is our largest apartment and a true design space — designer lamps, striking wallpaper and an open archway between kitchen and living room. Kitchen and living area face the garden, both bedrooms have full blackout curtains. Your own entrance right next to the Sorger bakery — in the morning the staircase smells of fresh bread. Parking in the courtyard. Fast WiFi. Code lock — check in whenever you like. The space 72 square metres, designer lamps, striking wallpaper and an open archway between kitchen and living room — the orange flat is our largest apartment, and it has a character all of its own. Imagine waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh bread. That's coming from the Sorger bakery right below your apartment. You walk down your own private staircase to the ground floor, through the internal door into the bakery, grab warm rolls and good coffee — and if it's raining, you won't even get wet. Back in the kitchen, over breakfast you look either through the open archway into the living room or out of the window onto the grand Villa Markhof and its front garden. Greenery instead of street. From the hallway you reach both bedrooms, the bathroom and the kitchen. Both bedrooms have box-spring beds (180×200) with pocket-spring mattresses and fresh, high-quality bed linen. The master bedroom also has a lounge chair that can double as a recliner for a seventh guest. Both rooms have full blackout. In the living room there's a pull-out sofa bed (160×200) that comfortably accommodates two more guests. Smart TV in the living area. The kitchen has everything you need for a longer stay: an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, and both a capsule and a filter coffee machine. In the bathroom you'll find a shower, a hairdryer and a washer-dryer combo — so there's no need to bring extra laundry from home. Fresh towels, an iron and an ironing board are of course included. Fast WiFi works throughout the entire apartment. We're happy to provide a cot and a highchair on request. You enter the orange flat via your own entrance at Schubertstraße 16a — right next to the bakery. Private staircase, private access. The large shared garden of the villa is yours to enjoy anytime — for relaxing, reading, or simply soaking up the quiet. Zinzendorfgasse with its restaurants, cafés, student bars and small shops is a three-minute walk away. Public transport is two minutes on foot — bus lines 31 and 63 stop at Uni-Mensa and Uni-ReSoWi. From there you'll reach the main train station or the city centre in just a few minutes. On foot, you can get to the city park and the Botanical Garden in ten minutes and to Graz's historic centre in a quarter of an hour. Graz airport is about 25 minutes away by car. Graz is a UNESCO World Heritage city, a City of Design and a Culinary Capital — and you're staying right in the heart of the villa district, in one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Guest access We don't use keys — which means you can't lose one either. The front door has a fixed code lock; your apartment has a Nuki code lock with a numeric keypad. Before your arrival you'll receive two separate codes by email — one for the front door and one for your apartment. This way you can check in at any time of day or night without waiting for anyone. Check-in from 3:00 PM, check-out by 10:00 AM. Your own secured parking space is in the courtyard — marked with your apartment's colour name. You'll receive detailed driving and entrance instructions with the check-in email. If you're arriving by public transport: From the main train station take bus line 63 directly to Uni-Mensa. From Jakominiplatz take line 31 to Uni-ReSoWi — both stops are just a 2-minute walk from us. If you're arriving by bicycle, there's a bike parking area in the courtyard. Other things to note The apartment is on the first floor without a lift — the private staircase may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility. The orange flat is directly opposite the university on Schubertstraße. One bedroom faces the university and Schubertstraße, the other faces Geidorfgürtel and the garden — with the windows open, street noise is audible. Both bedrooms have full blackout. There's a guest registration form on the kitchen table in the apartment — please fill it in and leave it there when you check out. This is a legal requirement in Austria for all overnight guests.
