Catch a Water Taxi in front of The Tiki Shop to take you to West Bay Beach for the day. You can also catch a boat in West End to do an island tour by water, go see the dolphins at Anthony's Key, deep-sea fish or head out for some guided snorkeling. Dive Shops are bountiful in the West End. All include equipment rental and are within walking distance. All Dive Shops accommodate guests of every skill level from absolute beginners to well-experienced divemasters. Ask us for assistance in arranging your airport pick-up or drop-off. Other things to note Electricity: The daily room rate does not include the cost of electricity, as it is quite expensive on Roatan. The local power company, Roatan Electric Company (RECO), predominantly relies on diesel generators to generate electricity, resulting in a higher cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) compared to the mainland of Honduras. On Roatan, the cost typically exceeds $0.40 per kWh, while in the Honduran mainland, it ranges from $0.07 to $0.21 (as of 08/15/2022), depending on the state. To ensure fairness and offer lower room rates, we have opted for a system where guests are charged based on their actual electricity usage, rather than a flat fee for amenities such as air conditioning and laundry. By allowing guests to self-regulate their electrical consumption, we aim to provide flexibility and transparency. The moderate use of air conditioning in the bedrooms during the night and other appliances can amount to approximately $8 - $14 USD per day. To calculate your electrical charge, we will record the meter reading at both check-in and check-out. The difference between the two readings will be multiplied by $0.50 per kWh. Payment can be made in cash or through popular online payment platforms such as Airbnb, or Pay. Pal. We kindly encourage you to adopt energy-saving practices during your stay.
