Authentic, relaxing country retreat

Escape the hustle and bustle and join us in the country. Immerse yourself in the Victorian countryside surrounded by native bush, wildlife and pristine rivers. During summer there will be moths and crickets. They are harmless but may enter your rooms through open doorways. Each season presents something new to do - March is blackberry picking, September-April is yabbying, fishing, mushroom hunting, lambing in September. Orphan lambs to feed if interested. Relax on the decks after exploring. The space Each room has its on ensuite - shower, toilet and hand basin. There are 2 double rooms, 1 that interconnects with another 2 bunk bed room if desired. A further room with 2 single beds completes the bedrooms. Note that each room directly accesses the deck and to go to the kitchen, dining and living area you need to travese the deck. This allows more privacy for you and your friends. Guest access All areas of the accommodation are accessible to you except one room that still contains my building/painting materials. This room is separate so will not impede you in any way. You are welcome to walk over our farm stopping when you come to a fence - that will still leave you with an enviable amount of room to hike through. If you'd like to go yabbying I'll show you my special yabby spot - but please only take the males and not the females (I'll describe the difference). Other things to note Visitors need a sense of adventure and love the outdoors/country life. This will include moths and crickets (had a complaint about them so warning in advance). These are endemic in the countryside - totally harmless and do not live in the accommodation but will enter when you open the doors (moths for the lights) and crickets during very dry/hot periods seeking the cool of an air-conditioned room. If you have a fear/distaste of the occasional moth or cricket then this (or any country-based accommodation) may not be for you. This accommodation was built several years ago for our shearers and roustabouts. It was important to us that they were able to have decent and comfortable quarters after undertaking what must surely be the hardest work there is. As there are many women and families in the shearing industry it was also important to us that they were able to come and stay as a family removing the need to leave families for extended periods of time. It has been our absolute delight to meet them all over the years and watch their children grow and flourish. This is why there are so many dates blocked out for availability - this invaluable, entertaining and critical group of people will always take priority.
