Peaceful Getaway in a Cozy 1- Room Log Cabin at Camp Earth Connection. Cabin sleeps up to 4 with a full-size bed, bunk beds, mini- fridge, microwave & hot water kettle. Outside is a charcoal grill & fire pit. Just 12 miles from Ithaca, home of Gorges, Cornell & Ithaca College. Adjacent to 20 miles of trails for hiking & mountain biking in the Hammond Hill State Forest. Cabin & facilities are Alcohol & Drug Free. WiFi & Hot Showers at main camp area. Enjoy the sounds of nature & starlit sky. The space The Facility: The 1-Room Log Camping Cabins are a part of Camp Earth Connection (CEC), a small woodland campground, located on a beautiful parcel of land with 62 acres of forests and fields surrounded by the Hammond Hill State Forest. CEC includes 5 tent campsites and 5 rustic 1 room camping cabins, 3 camping pod cabins, and 4 camping cabins with electric. Each cabin and tent site is unique in its location and level of privacy. Reservations are required for all campsites and cabins. In addition, up the road from the camp there are 3 full amenity rental options: The Tiny House Retreat Cabin, The Mountain Queen Cabin and Forest Moon Cottage. Amenities at the campground include: • A clean shower house with hot water and sinks for brushing teeth and washing up. • Clean and water saving composting toilets • A community pavilion with a ping pong table, a computer work and charging station, a coffee and tea station, books and more. • The Red Eft Café is an additional pavilion available for staff and volunteers, but also where you our community campfire pancake breakfast happens and scheduled outdoor living skill workshops. • A dishwashing station with potable water and hot water for washing dishes. • Spigots with potable water throughout the camp. • Adjacent to the campground is over 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking, bird watching, etc. in the Hammond Hill State Forest. About Camp Earth Connection: Camp Earth Connection (CEC) is so more than just a campground, it is an experience which offers a feeling of community, where people can experience deep connections with nature and each other. Some find that connection happens during walks in the woods or sitting by our wildlife pond, while others find it while camping with family, friends. There are also opportunities for new connections at CEC during our community events such as community campfires, guided trail walks, outdoor workshops or a recreational game of ping pong. CEC is a place where some have found emotional and physical healing in this relaxing atmosphere. Folks have also found emotional and physical healing in the relaxing safe atmosphere What it is important to know about Camp Earth Connection: • Camp Earth Connection is an alcohol and drug free facility. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited on the premises, to help ensure that a this is a peaceful and safe environment, allowing folks to find peace and serenity in this natural environment. Smoking is also NOT allowed on the premises, although those who smoke may take a short walk off the premises to do so. We are support those who are in recovery from addiction and alcoholism via our safe environment. • Camp Earth Connection welcomes and values people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. In particular we want people from the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities to know they are welcomed here and we will do our best to make sure our guests feel safe, cared for and respected. We of course expect the same in return from all of our guests. • The Camp Earth Connection community is environmentally conscientious and is committed to preserving the natural surroundings and natural resources. Composting and recycling are incorporated into our daily routine. We understand the importance of reducing the amount of resources we use, and re-using and re-generating whenever possible. We ask that our guests join us on our mission to be good stewards of our planet. We do require that our guests recycle appropriate materials and put food waste in our composting stations. Guest access The facilities at CEC include: • WiFi available at the main camp. • Hot showers and compost toilets available at the shower house. Compost toilets are lighted, clean and designed to be odor free with built in fans for ventilation. • A dishwashing station • A wildlife pond filled which attracts local mammals and birds including: deer, skunk, fox, fishers, coyotes, raccoons, Canadian geese, wild mallards, blue herons and more. The listed are just some that have been sighted in the vicinity of the pond. • Pavilions, a green house, gardens and trails for our guests to visit. • Access to state forest trails, enjoyed by mountain biker, hikers, runner, berry pickers, and other outdoor enthusiasts Other things to note Make sure to use directions sent to you once your reserve your site. Guests should not depend on Internet or GPS for directions to the cabin. GPS directions may lead you down impassable abandoned dirt roads. Please make sure to review “Policies and Rules”
