PRIVATE APARTMENT IN PANAMA CITY, CLOSE TO CASCO VIEJO. If you're looking to get submerged into real Panama and live among the real locals. This is the right place to be. For More Info or visual content, follow us on IG as Paradox Experience and visit our Virtual Showcase with the link in our IG BIO. More than a regular stay, we are an experience. The space We love the Santa Ana neighborhood, this is the first extension of the original city, Casco Antiguo, built in the late XVII century, so you will find remarkable and diverse architecture all around, buildings that were left in ruins, as to very much renewed ones like ours. This is definitely the most authentic neighborhood of Panama City. Once you left the building you will see lots of people, fruit vendors, hear Latin music, and see locals hanging out in the park playing chess and dominos. You will also see that trash it's located in specific places where the garbage truck will pick it up twice a day. Be aware that you will be in one of the most transited pedestrian streets in the city, being the core of it you will find everything that you need at a very close range, from banks, clothing, pharmacy, markets with very cheap and delicious season fruits and vegetables. It can be loud. The street is very much alive during the day, but fairly quiet during the night. You will see that is a very guarded area. Police patrol the entire place day and night long and make sure that tourists are safe and have the best experience. Nevertheless, it's always good to advise you to be aware of your surroundings. Never leave personal items unattended, like cellphones, cameras, bags, etc. You will also find the studio apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The living room/bedroom has a historic 100-year-old stone wall surrounding it and has sleep space for up to two people on the queen-size bed and a sofa-bed for one extra person, a dining table, and a working desk by the window. Instead of a TV, there is a projector that you can watch from the sofa or bed. Just pull down the blackout shade, turn the projector on, and choose a movie to watch using the included Netflix, HBO Max, Disney +, and Amazon Prime Video accounts already set up with the Fire Stick. WiFi internet using a portable hotspot is also provided. You can even take it out with you during the day if you don't have a cell phone service ($100 fine if it's lost or damaged). There is a new kitchen with an electric stove, refrigerator, and all the basics you need for cooking. There is local coffee provided that you can enjoy using the coffee maker; tea is also provided for the non-coffee drinkers and the water is safe to drink from the tap. The shower has great water pressure with hot water if you like. In the bathroom, you can expect to have clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, from the hanged dispensers in the wall. There is a public coin laundry machine right outside the apartment on the patio that you can use to wash and dry your clothes. The cost is $1.50 per service and it accepts quarters only. You can also do full laundry service at Selina Hotel for $10 (includes wash, dry and folding). THE STEP: In the kitchen entrance there is a small step, we have labeled it with a reflective security strip, to bring attention to it. Please be careful not to stumble with it. AC: The apartment has an AC unit installed on top of the window facing directly at the bed, it can get cold so we recommend that the temperature be left at 25°C. Electricity is very expensive in Panamá so please turn it off when you’re not home. THE DOOR: Please always lock the door with the upper lock to ensure that the door remains closed. Depending on the temperature of the room the wood on the door tends to shift and may cause the door to open by itself even after being locked from the inside. NO VIEW: This is an interior apartment so we don't have an outdoor view. The apartment is facing directly to the internal patio. However, it is located almost at the end of the hallway which provides privacy. There is also a camera for the building located at the end of the hallway to guarantee safety. There is a public balcony at the beginning of the hallway on our floor surrounded by our plants with a cozy little table and a set of 2 chairs, overlooking the lively Central Avenue, that you can use as well. NOISE RESTRICTIONS: The building has a strict policy on noise that we need to respect. After 10 pm there is no music or loud chattering allowed in any of the social areas like the balconies, patio, or hallways. Please be aware that we share the space with other residents and guests from other AirBnBs and we need to respect everyone's resting time. Guest access You'll have access to the entire space during your stay. Also, kindly be aware that this listing doesn't have an elevator, for this apartment you'll need to come up 2 set of stairs of 25 steps each Other things to note It's always important to say that this experience is as authentic as it can get. Even though the apartment is set beautifully and the building is very nice and renewed, it is however located in Central Avenue and for some people, it could be a little overwhelming to be surrounded with so much Panamanian day by day living as for others they'd love to be able to experiment the authenticity of the area, rich history, and it's people.
