Other things to note Irida apartment is part of a 2-story building block of 8 small apartments and 2 maisonettes located on the street leading to the sandy beach and marina. The residents are mainly local employees (Greeks & Europeans). Only 3 of the 8 apartments are rented to tourists, which means that the common outdoor facilities including dining areas, sun beds and pool will be shared mainly among the residents of the 3 apartments for the largest part of the day. There are 3 external entrances to the property, all of which are kept closed but not locked at night. The 4th entrance to the apartment is locked at all times and your key is needed to enter. ----------------------------------------------------------------- FAQs HOW CAN I GET TO THE APARTMENT FROM HERAKLION AIRPORT? Easiest way to get to the apartment is by car – it’s a 10 minutes drive. There is also a dedicated city bus from the Heraklion airport – bus stop (No.11) is 2 minutes from the apartment. Outside terminal you can also find a taxi (estimated cost - 35 euro). HOW FAR IS THE APARTMENT TO... There are two sandy beaches within 10 minutes walk from the apartment, where you can find beach chairs and umbrellas available for a fee, as well as water attractions, both of which have an easy, sandy access to the water. The Gournes sandy beach is located a bit further (15 minutes walk) but it’s less crowded. WHAT CAN I DO IN THE AREA? Regardless of whether you plan on sunbathing or intensive sightseeing, you will find plenty of attractions in the area: - You may enjoy water attractions: rent water equipment or test some adventures in Gouves water park. - If you like adrenaline, you will definitely like riding on quads and buggies on the beach - Decided to take a break from the beach? Just rent bikes or scooters and do a little sightseeing or check jeep safari! - There’re also organized trips to the mountains, museums, archaeological sites, Spinalonga cruises, or city- tours. - For families, a great option is to visit Dinosauria Park and Cretaquarium. - And if you want to go somewhere further, we highly recommend cruises from port of Heraklion – to the Dia island, Santorini, Preveli beach or other Greek islands. CAN I STAY LONGER & WORK FROM THE APARTMENT? Apartment is fully equipped and ready for longer stays. We can add a desk for more comfortable work.
