This modern, sunny, private walk-out basement apartment has a king-sized bed, full kitchen, and dedicated office with fast Starlink wifi. Ours is a secluded mountain home, away from the highway, on 4 acres of serene forested land. With miles of outdoor activities (hiking, running, biking, fly-fishing, skiing, snowshoeing & more) within minutes of your door, and charming mountain towns just down the road, this is the perfect place for you to call home during your stay in the Colorado mountains. Meander down a short, wooded path to a large deck and the private entrance to the apartment. Lay your things down and take off your shoes on the bench by the door. Enjoy the warmth of the radiant-floor heat as you settle into your space. Abundant natural light pores in through the wall of windows that frame the large, open-concept, and comfortable living and dining space. Cozy-down in the over-sized chaise couch. A large screen TV with Roku streaming (no cable) is available for your use. Or, settle in for a productive work-from-home day in the dedicated office with multiple desk spaces that can be arranged to your liking. We provide WIFI access. Cook to your hearts content in our well-appointed, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a full-size refrigerator, full-size stove and oven, farmhouse sink, and wine cooler. Enjoy your meals at our full-size, extendable dining table. After a full day of work and play, relax in the European steam shower (foot massager included!) in the spacious bathroom tiled with Italian marble. Don’t forget to warm your towel up on the heated towel rack! Two sinks, large mirror, and excellent lighting round out the amenities in this deluxe bathroom. When you’re ready to rest up for the next day ahead, get comfortable in the king size bed with brand new mattress and down duvet. With a large dresser, closet, and dual night stands, there is ample storage for all you will need during your stay. Additionally, there is a washer and dryer in the bathroom so you can conveniently refresh throughout your visit. A brand new, large deck sits outside of the apartment entrance. It overlooks most of our 4 acres of forested wood land and abundant wildflowers in late spring, summer, and fall. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail outside in this idyllic setting. If you stay still and quiet you may be lucky enough to spot a fox, deer, or moose depending on the season. Forest and mountain views are all around you. A small creek (~6-8” depth), perfect for kid exploration and imagination, runs across the base of our property. An intertwining network of short trails, also on our property, hold a wealth of wonder for kids trying out their first hiking and biking adventures, right outside your door. (See below for more information on the outdoor activities that surround our mountain community.) Due to the character of our home and its surroundings, it is best suited for an active individual, couple, or small family. Guests will have access to the entire 1200 sf private, basement apartment with a private entrance and a parking space. There is also access to the 4 acres of forested land that is our property and adjacent Forest Service land. We are generally around to offer any help you may need throughout your stay. Please download the AirBnB app as that is the easiest way to keep in touch, we are very responsive to messages sent through the app. Our home is conveniently located close to all that the beautiful Indian Peaks mountains and unique mountain towns have to offer. We are a 5 minute drive from Rollinsville where you can find a post-office, the Howlin’ Wind Brewery, and Melt Coffee Shop, Gold Dirt Distillery cocktail bar, and Toss Wood Fired Eatery. The town of Nederland, where you can restock on groceries, eat at one of the many restaurants, grab drinks at multiple breweries, and check out many unique shopping experiences, is 12 minutes away. We are a 20 minute drive from Eldora Ski Resort where you can Alpine and Nordic ski. Black Hawk and Central City, historic towns that are now home to many casinos and restaurants, are 20 minutes away. In addition, we are only 35 minutes from the beautiful, bustling town of Boulder, home to the University of Colorado. Idaho Springs, where you can find rafting, zip lining, and hot springs, is only 45 minutes to the west and Golden, home to the Colorado School of Mines, and a lovely downtown area, is 45 minutes to the east. Denver is about an hour away (Denver International Airport is 1 hr 20 mins away). The ski areas of Summit County (Loveland, A-basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper) are all within 70-90 minutes driving (without traffic). Our mountain community is surrounded by Forest Service property with access to multiple wilderness areas (James Peak, Indian Peaks) just minutes away. There are too many trailheads for hiking, biking, and jeeping to mention here. We’re happy to point you in the right direction when you arrive! Golden Gate Canyon State Park (get a State Park Pass) is about 15 minutes away and has amazing hiking and biking trails and breathtaking aspen views in the fall. It is possible to access Rocky Mountain National Park in ~50 minutes while the town of Estes Park is ~1 hr 15 minutes away. As we are located in the mountains, cell service is limited and internet bandwidth is less than in urban locations. AT&T is the only cell provider with service at our home and essentially from the town of Nederland south to mid-Gilpin County. At our home you can access WiFi calling. We have WiFi at our home though speeds are less than what you may be accustomed to if you come from an urban area and we do sometimes have service interruptions. Parking is free. Our home is tucked into the mountains in the forest affording amazing opportunities for solitude and adventure. Access to these amenities requires 4WD/AWD during the winter months (generally November to April, sometimes May). Our late spring snowstorms melt quickly in the abundant Colorado sunshine at 8750 ft. We are family friendly. We live upstairs with our 2 children (half time) and medium-sized dog. If you are visiting with your children please let us know and we can provide games, toys, a pack-and-play, toddler bed, and other specifics on request. We love our lively, family-friendly atmosphere and for this reason, while our apartment has many amenities that most basement apartments do not, you may hear noise from upstairs on occasion. Please feel free to reach out and let us know if it is bothering you and we will work to mitigate it. Our home is tucked into the mountains at the end of a private road in the forest affording amazing opportunities for solitude and adventure. Access to these amenities requires 4WD/AWD during the winter months (generally November to April, sometimes May). Our late spring snowstorms melt quickly in the abundant Colorado sunshine at 8750 ft. Due to the character of our home and its surroundings, it is best suited for an active individual, couple, or small family (2 adults + 1 child) looking to take advantage of all the mountains have to offer while enjoying a modern, clean, and comfortable home for relaxation or work. As with ours, most homes in the mountains do not have air-conditioning because of the cool temperatures (the high temperature rarely gets to 80 degrees). Please note that cellular reception is poor for most networks at our home (AT&T seems to be the best). We provide WiFi internet, which we recently upgraded to Starlink. We recommend enabling Wifi calling on your cellphone, which should allow you to use your phone like normal through the Wifi. If you still have difficulties, we would be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue.
