Guest access Located near the town of Creston, off of Highway 41 North, our vineyard is approximately one mile south on Straw Ridge Road, a private gravel road. At Amaretto Ridge Road, you will pass through a set of gates (There is a sensitivity strip in the road that will open the gate.) The gate opens slowly. The button on the arm extension is for walkers. At the V, hang to the right, then turn right at the paver driveway at the end of the vines. I am the only 2-story house around. No other nearby houses. Park by the courtyard and walk to the entrance into the pool area. The first door to the right, through the bathroom, is the entrance to your space. Please remove your shoes upon entering. Find rules for your stay in the white folder on the buffet. Other things to note The space is for two adults. Guests are free to explore the property: creek beds to investigate, hills to climb, and several miles of private roads to jog or hike. If you enjoy golf, right and left handed golf clubs and buckets of golf balls are available at your request, to practice your swing before visiting several premier local courses. Spring at the vineyard is a wonderful time of year. The vines awaken in a blanket of green as the grapes begin to grow, and California Poppies put on a dazzling display. We carefully cultivate the crop until the harvest in the fall. Year-round, we enjoy the best of California wildlife: deer, hawks, falcons and song birds. And hanging out in the upper meadow is a pair of cooing doves . In the winter it can be windy and cold. And if we get rain, the dirt road may be hard to navigate. The warm season lasts from June through September; the cold season lasts from November through March. Mountain lion, bob cats, fox, coyote, deer, ground squirrels, gophers, snakes - rattle and gopher. There are field mice, and though I have set traps, I have had some mice get inside. They can flatten their bodies to get under a closed door.
