Welcome come stay at our 2 Bedroom guesthouse/duplex convenient to everything,walking distance to downtown 15 minutes to Freeport 25 minutes to Portland.smoke-free,private entrance ,WiFi,washer/dryer,full kitchen,pet friendly,40"TV smart tv with Netflix and Hulu, 5 minutes to Bowdoin College! Free eggs from our chickens included! And while in season help yourself to our vegetable garden. Fire pit area grill and outdoor dining area. We recycle and compost! Support local artists!!! Stay at our cozy clean beautiful guesthouse (attached to our house) 2 bedrooms ( small bedrooms) both have built-in beds one has a tree bed made by my husband there is one queen size memory foam mattress and one full-size pillow top mattress. The apartment has AC and sound machines next to each bed. I try to make your stay as easy as possible if there’s anything missing please let me know! We converted our old carriage House next door in to our Art Gallery, hours vary but if you want a tour of the Gallery any time let us know! We live Near downtown,you can walk to the farmers’ market ,walk to our local health food store and lots of fun restaurants!.Our home is a pet friendly space. Our house was built in 1910,wood floors,cozy feel, kitchen with stove,refrigerator,toaster, microwave ,coffee maker ( Keurig plus regular coffee maker),dishes ,pots and pans and all the utensils you would need. The bathroom has full bathtub and soft towels from Anthropologie. This place is family friendly and we can provide a pack and play if needed. Decorated with original art by Matt Barter and blankets towels and bedding from Anthropologie.Also free use of Washer/dryer,Wi-Fi,smart tv with Netflix Hulu Amazon prime tv, free parking,both bedrooms sleep two. living room has additional futon that sleeps one more. Apartment and property are Smoke-free. We also have other amenities like iron, ironing board .We don't charge a cleaning fee to stay competitive ( I clean professionally) but we expect renters to leave the apartment as they found it, beds stripped,dishes done and put away,all soiled linens put in washer etc. Thanks again we look forward to hosting you!!!! ( p.s. please crate dogs when left alone in apartment and clean up after them) we do recycle and compost and trash day is Friday morning make sure all trash is in the metal trashcan next to the apartment in the storage space across the hall and our recycling is in the recycling bin by Thursday evening. Feel free to ask us for advice on local restaurants and sites to see and local beaches. Wi-Fi,washer dryer,private entrance ,smart TV!! with free access to Netflix,Hulu and Amazon TV,no cable we are cord cutters but we have very fast wifi. All sheets are provided and extra pillows and blankets too. Also provided is coffee and some breakfast provisions. Anything in the pantry is for the renters to use ,help yourself. There’s also extra sheets and blankets in the bathroom and help yourself to anything you need in the rental there is a closet with games books and some toys for kids. Access to our BBQ and outdoor sitting area are available in the summertime.Sometimes our house is hard to find it’s at the end of a long driveway with a barn it has a wooden head shaped mailbox with the words Barter Art house on it. Our house is blue with pumpkin trim and the barn is grey with red trim GPS finds us pretty well too :) we are a 5 minute walk to downtown. We will be there to give you the key and welcome you but then you have privacy for your entire stay but we will be right next door if you need anything.*Check out just make sure your dishes are done your towels and sheets you have used are thrown in the washing machine ( you don’t need to start the wash just put everything in the washer) and your recycling is in the recycling bin in the hall &trash in the trash cans then just leave the key on the table* Check out by 11:00 am. If for some reason we are away on vacation or out of town we make arrangements to leave you the key in a lock box and you have an easy check-in check-out. Walking distance to everything easy access to the freeway ,train station etc, safe neighborhood. Great restaurant El Camino within walking distance and many other awesome restaurants coffee shops and health food stores downtown just a 2 minute drive 10 min walk.You can text us for restaurant recommendations we've eaten at every one in town and we are foodies ;) also we are happy to help with directions or local hotspots to see*see our guidebook*. We are near Route 1 with cars going speeds of Max 35mph but the apartment is in the back of the property near the barn and partially surrounded by a wooded area which lessens traffic noise but if mild traffic noise bothers you this might not be the place for you. For the convenience of our guests we have a white noise machine and double pane windows. We sometimes do provide rides to and from the airport if necessary but only for long-term stays ( 3 nights or more) we are walking distance to downtown and many good restaurants and a nice health food store on Main Street there's also a farmers market on Fridays. There's a train station about ten minutes walk from here and I believe Bowdoin College has shuttle services but you would have to contact them if you are coming to visit Bowdoin College. If you need directions or recommendations for anything let us know :) I believe Uber also works in the area and there are many other taxi services. Gorham bike and ski around the corner rents bikes :) We will provide you with our cell phone numbers and you can text us if there's anything that you need. Also we are close to a busy road but we have double pane windows so with the window shut you don't really hear much traffic also at night we provide a white noise machine in case you're a light sleeper. Please be respectful of the space and that is a shared space so no party’s no unreasonably loud noise after 11 pm. Side note if you have pets please clean up after your pets and crate all pets when they are left in the apartment alone.Also we do have chickens in the backyard so you may occasionally hear chicken noises but we have no rooster don’t worry! :) they mostly only make noise at the late morning when they are laying eggs.
