Welcome to High Country Cabin! A three bedroom, two bathroom original rustic mountain cabin, with updated and modern amenities, including outdoor jacuzzi and fire pit. We are located walking distance to the local saloon, country store, and the beautiful public meadow. Note: we are not 20 mins from Sequoia National Park. We are located in Sequoia National Forest, about 1.5 hrs. from the Park. We are unable to remove this from our page. The space High Country Cabin is a three bed / two bath cabin that sleeps six comfortably. The cabin backs to Nelson Creek and you can hear the rushing waterfall from anywhere on the property, including while in the Jacuzzi! We are only a ten minute walk to the Slate Mountain Saloon, and most importantly....only a ten minute stumble home! The front porch has a built in live-edge slab bar, plenty of seating, and a Traeger smoker. Outside we have a fire pit, hammock, sun deck, and seating for your entire group. The kitchen and both bathrooms have been fully remodeled for a modern experience on the mountain. There is a small back deck with abundant views the mountains. If you love to fish, the cabin is only a five minute walk to some of the main fishing holes on the Tule River. Deer and other wildlife frequent our property early in the morning and in the evenings. There is a fireplace and heater to stay warm on even the chilliest evenings. AMENITIES: - Jacuzzi - Hammock - Wifi (200 mbps) - Brand new 50" smart TV with full streaming capabilities - Record player (with separate built in bluetooth speaker) and vintage record collection - Both bathrooms stocked with clean, natural, and cruelty free hair and body care products made by Native - Traeger Smoker - Outdoor fire pit - Fireplace, please bring your own wood or purchase at the local store - Down comforters for the colder nights - Heater - Washer / Dryer THE LOCATION: High Country Cabin at Camp Nelson is located near the following: - Two minute walk to the Nelson Falls RV Park and pond - Ten minute walk to the Slate Mountain Saloon, local general store, and Nelson Meadow - Five minute drive to Pierpoint Springs restaurant, bar, and general store - One mile from Belknap Campground - Thirty minute drive to Dome Rock - Forty minute drive to Nobe Young Falls - Forty Five minute drive to the Trail of 100 Giants - One hour drive to the Johnsondale Bridge and Kern River where you can hike the five mile river trail up the Kern with excellent trout fishing opportunities along the way - One hour and a half drive to Kernville and Kernville Brewing. It is a long drive, but beautiful and worth it if you make all these stops along the way! Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin and surrounding property with the exception of a locked closet and utility room Other things to note We are thrilled to offer a brand new hot tub and sun deck with our listing! Nothing is better after a long day of hiking and exploring the national forest than taking a long soak and staring at the beautiful night sky. We want you to enjoy yourself and have the best experience, but due to the potential for accidents and damage due to misuse, we must advise of the following for both your safety and our protection: - Maximum capacity of the hot tub is 6 - Please do not spill anything (food, drink, soap, bubble bath, soap, make up, etc.) in the hot tub. -There will be a $150 fee to drain and refill the hot tub should anything foreign substance be found to have been spilled or placed in the hot tub. -No glass in the hot tub. We supply colorful plastic cups for your use as needed. - A quick rinse in the shower is recommended before entering to keep the water clean and clear for your stay, as lotions, sunscreen, bug spray, oils, etc. can cause the water to become cloudy/dirtier than usual. - Do not sit or walk on the cover. It will break - The hot tub can intensify the effects of drugs and alcohol and increase the chance of drowning. Please be responsible. - Children must be supervised by an adult at all times - Do not use during a thunderstorm or if there is lightning in the area - Please do not enter our cabin or sit on the furniture dripping wet. There are specific hot tub towels in the back bathroom for your use. - Individuals with open wounds, health conditions, pregnancies, or advanced age should consult with their medical professional before use - Please reset the hot tub temperature to 100 degrees and close the cover when you are done - We are not responsible for accidents. Should you choose to use the hot tub, you agree to do so at your own risk.
