Description
Timber Top Lodge is a rustic, cosy, off-grid cabin located in the sleepy village of Tanjil Bren. It's two and a half hours east of Melbourne and 20 minutes from Mt Baw Baw Ski Village. The cabin offers the perfect place to kick back and relax, or it can be a comfy base if you want to get out and explore. The space Timber Top Lodge is a cosy two story A-frame cabin which sleeps up to 6 people. We provide quality bed linen and towels. There are two bedrooms with queen sized beds and a spacious loft area with two single beds with plenty of space for children to play or for adults to relax. There's an outdoor deck area with a barbecue and chiminea, for alfresco dining overlooking the native ferns and eucalyptus trees in expansive backyard. Downstairs is a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, Japanese soaking tub, where you can soak in essential oil infused bath salts, light some candles and gaze out of the huge skylight. In warmer months, spend the day out on the deck with the native birds or relax on hammocks in our beautiful native garden. When it is chilly, cozy up inside with the log fire burning, playing boardgames, reading books or watching classic movies. Off-grid - Switch off and disconnect ⤑ Timber Top Lodge is off-grid, solar powered and has good battery capacity and a back up generator. ⤑ You can charge a mobile phone during the day, but you cannot bring your own appliances e.g. heaters, and electric-cookers. ⤑ The cabin is heated by a wood fired heater. ⤑ LPG gas is provided for the stove, oven and hot water ⤑ There is limited phone reception available, depending on your network. We provide a satellite internet for you to maintain contact with the outside world, but internet speeds are variable and may not be what you are used to. We have a TV with built in DVD player and over 150 DVDs. Things to Bring ⤑ Food supplies (we provide the basics). ⤑ Snow chains if you are travelling beyond Tanjil Bren during winter. These can be hired from Tanjil Bren Snow Chain Hire. Dogs ⤑ Dogs are welcome—please let us know at the time of booking. ⤑ Must be toilet-trained adults (no puppies). ⤑ Maximum of two dogs per stay (unless arranged prior). ⤑ Bring a dog bed and blanket if they enjoy lounging on the couch (no dogs on beds). ⤑ Cleaning up after your dog is essential. The Local Area Tanjil Bren is a small, off-grid community with no shops or cafés. ⤑ The recreation reserve has a barbecue area, seating, and a small playground. ⤑ Enjoy the scenic Tanjil Bren Loop walk (Scotty’s Track and Tramline Road). ⤑ Take a hike through the lush forest to Tramway Falls. Things to Consider: ⤑ The cabin’s stairs are fairly steep and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. Families with very young children should consider whether this may be challenging and take extra care—there is a safety gate at the top of the stairs. Guest access You'll have access to the entire property. Other things to note - We supply firewood for the indoor wood heater, as well as kitchen and bathroom essentials, and bird seed for our feathered visitors. - If you wish to use the outdoor chiminea, please bring your own firewood. - Set in the lush forests of Tanjil Bren, our accommodation is ideal for guests who appreciate a peaceful, nature-filled escape.
