Write or read a book, fish, watch birds, lay in a hammock or do some crabbing. Dine and visit historical and recreational areas. Steps lead down and up a private entry door of the cottage. Stay a week! (About 20 minutes to St. Simons Island and 40 to Jekyll Island beaches). Close to I-95 & Hwy 17. (A smoke-free and pet free cottage) The space It is a clean beautiful private one-bedroom cottage built on a Bluff with a full Kitchen, bathroom and large Great Room just for two. You will love the deep river, the dock and the deck. You will see the beautiful sunset, wake up to a riverfront view from the Great Room deck to enjoy birds, the river, the marsh, the bluff and forest. Fish from dock or floating dock or sleep in the hammock dock. The cottage is where you can relax, drink wine, coffee or tea. It is a quiet place for couples to enjoy. No Pets, please. Darien is blessed with Natural, Recreational and Historical features. Eat around the town for delicious fresh seafood. Darien is close to several beaches. Also, make reservations to take a ferry boat to tour Sapelo Island. Enjoy our history and our Georgia Coast! Guest access Enjoy plenty of parking space for trailers, boats, and bikes. Enjoy Darien's bike and walking trails. Enjoy the entire cottage, porch, the backyard grounds, cottage deck, boating dock, and deep river. You can Tie in your boat at the cottage river but not launch at cottage. Other things to note We love this small, quiet and historical little town. Nice in the winter, and a very warm to hot climate in the summer. Nice breeze from the river. Sunsets are beautiful. In Darien, go biking, kayaking, boating, or crabbing. Board the Ferry boat to tour to the Gullah Geechee community in Sapelo Island, GA. Visit the Darien's Old Jail Art Gallery, the historic Ashantilly printing press, Fort King George, the museum and the Wine Shop. Enjoy fresh seafood at Skippers, B&Js and other local or coastal restaurants or you can cook on the electric grill on the deck, the gas grill on the dock or the Outdoor Kitchen gas top. Our cottage is Located close to GA. Hwy 17 and Interstate 95. It is twenty minutes to St. Simons Island and about forty minutes to Jekyll Island, GA. beaches. Take pictures at Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island. Go horseback and bike riding, or take land and water tours, on Jekyll Island or St Simons Islands. We are one hour from historical Savannah, GA.
