The lane itself feels like a hidden corridor - unhurried and residential, set apart from the bustle just a few steps away. Winter air in the city carries that familiar crisp edge, and coming back to steady heating and a thoughtfully arranged space makes each evening feel like a genuine reset.   Suite & living space The entire guest suite is designed for two and includes a separate bedroom, a living room, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchenette - all yours, with a private entrance and self check-in via lockbox. The living area invites you to sink in with a book, stream something on the 32-inch TV with Roku, or simply map out the next day's plans. A dedicated workspace and WiFi keep you connected whenever you need to be, and the dining table pulls double duty for meals and laptop sessions alike.   Sleeping arrangements The bedroom is set up for restful nights, with a comfortable bed dressed in cotton linens and both closet and dresser storage so you can actually unpack and settle in. Hangers, an iron, and the everyday essentials are all taken care of.   Kitchen & dining The kitchenette is well-stocked for light cooking and daily routines. You'll find a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, hot water kettle, and coffee maker, along with cooking basics, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and a drip of coffee to get the morning started. Whether you're warming up something from a nearby restaurant or putting together a simple breakfast before heading out, the setup handles it without fuss.   Bathroom The full bathroom includes both a bathtub and shower, along with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, a hair dryer, and cleaning products. Hot water is reliable, and the overall setup keeps your daily routine easy after long walks through the city's hills.   Outdoor space Just beyond the suite, a shared patio offers a welcome breath of fresh air. On cooler San Francisco days, it's a pleasant spot to step outside with a warm drink, take in the quiet of the lane, or enjoy a slow moment between outings. Outdoor furniture and a dining area make the space genuinely usable, weather permitting.   Location With a Walk Score of 96 and a Transit Score of 100, the neighborhood does a lot of the work for you. Buses and the cable car are steps away, connecting you to Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, the Financial District, and beyond. A laundromat nearby makes longer stays more practical, and the private entrance means arrivals and departures happen entirely on your schedule. Nob Hill carries real character - Grace Cathedral, the Fairmont Hotel, and a range of dining options from casual cafes to established local favorites are all close at hand. It's a genuinely central base for experiencing San Francisco on foot and by transit, without the noise of the busier corridors.   Please note: This property is not suitable for children. Additionally, pets are not allowed. Guest access Guests have access to the lower part of the condo, through the backyard patio. We (Mary & Dave) live upstairs on the second floor and have called this home for many years. We’re always happy to connect and share tips about life in the city if you’d like—but we also respect our guests’ privacy. For your convenience, we recommend parking in one of the nearby public garages, as street parking can be challenging and typically short-term. You’ll find a list of garages in the house manual, or feel free to contact the host before your arrival for options. Although our apartment is located on a secluded pedestrian lane in Nob Hill, you’re in the heart of San Francisco! Several bus lines and the cable car are just steps away, providing easy access to the entire city. With a walk score of 96, you’ll enjoy fantastic walkability—just be prepared for a few hills along the way! You’ll have a private entrance with a keypad for easy check-in. Other things to note This cozy lower-level part of the condo includes a locked door in the bedroom that leads to a small garage area. You may hear the upstairs neighbors car come and go from time to time, but they do not have access to the apartment. We apologize in advance if this disturbs you in any way, it's usually just 5 minutes once or twice a day. As it’s situated below street level, it may not receive a lot of natural light. There is no stove, but we do have a microwave, hot plate and toaster for cooking. While there is no door between the bedroom and living room, you’re welcome to use the room divider provided for added privacy during your stay. We do our best to accommodate LUGGAGE STORAGE when possible, but it isn’t always guaranteed. If needed, you can use a convenient service like BOUNCE, which provides secure luggage storage at nearby locations so you can enjoy your time without carrying bags around. When not traveling and we are upstairs, feel free to come say hi. This a quiet area of The City with noise control rules that restrict loud, late gatherings. Street parking can be difficult to find, so we don’t recommend relying on it. There are several public garages near by. Let us know if you need recommendations.
