True Log Cabin: Secluded and Quiet

Pet Friendly! (Pet hair Happens!) This is a Cozy cabin with lots of "extras" not normally supplied in rentals. It is nestled at the edge of town in a very quiet area overlooking a small creek. A true Log Cabin built in the 60's, it is 1,200 sq. ft. of charm! Access can be challenging. Driveway being remodeled ASAP! Able-bodied Guests Only, An AWD vehicle encouraged but not required. The space Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces for your safety. Disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer provided! 1. In the great room is the kitchen, dining table and living room with a queen futon, rocking chair and a recliner with a reading lamp . Dish TV with DVDs, VHS are available, along with books and games for kids and adults. 2. You'll have everything you need at the Cabin except food (and alcohol). The Cabin has a fully stocked kitchen including all the standard kitchen appliances, cooking oils, spices, as well as disposable and Corelle dinnerware and an extensive variety of drinkware and storageware. 3. There are 2+ charcoal BBQs off the back porch, with all cooking supplies needed - again, except for the food. **You are responsible for finding out the current Plumas County Charcoal BBQ Restrictions! Changes happen ... And I have tried to make the area as fire safe as possible** Additional, or larger BBQs are available. 4. Four outdoor sitting areas: (1) Patio table and chairs, with an umbrella in the back yard, (2) Plenty of outdoor chairs around a firepit in the back yard. Again ... **You are responsible for finding out the current Plumas County Firepit/BBQ Restrictions! Changes happen ... And I have tried to make the area as fire safe as possible** (3) Up the stairs on the porch to a second floor balcony with table and chairs overlooking the BBQ area and side yard. (4) Front porch sitting area with a calming and peaceful view down to Circle Drive, then across the road to a small, seasonal stream. Finally, there's a view over to the next (Forestry's) wild hillside where deer (or even a bear) may be spotted! Relax and Enjoy the Cabin! Guest access Fair Weather Cabin Only (Snow makes it inaccessible!!) AWD recommended. No handicapped access. Inquire for details! 1. Door Codes will be phoned or sent by text as your arrival date approaches. Also, they are written for you inside the Cabin. 2. ACCESS - 2 ways: A. Awd / 4WD- Park up in the pad in front of the Cabin and walk up the paths on the left side, marked by buckets with Solar Lights. B. 2wd - Park in any of the turnouts on Circle Drive. Walk/Hike up the driveway to the paths on the left side of the Cabin, marked by buckets with Solar Lights. ** Either method or you into the back yard. Go around to the back porch an use the code for the Back Door. 3. You'll have the Cabin and it's property to yourselves! We would ask you to be courteous to our neighbors as we are all looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing getaway. 4. All of us in the town and neighborhood try to be courteous with each other. Please, no loud music or loud voices after 10pm or before 6am. Please call or text me ASAP if you experience any issue that disturbs you. I can probably fix it, except for bears! Call 911 then call me, I can probably get help quicker than 911 .... ;-) LOTS More info as requested. (Boat parking, pets, outdoor lighting... ) Lots more detail, as with any vacation rental. Just ask ... Other things to note **The Tap Water is Great! City water from 2 Natural Springs - Snow Melt! Tested every month, La Porte is at the Top of the "Water Chain" ;-) 1. ATT / Sprint has a cell tower with 5 bar coverage at the Cabin! (No Verizon, T- Mobile, etc yet, Sorry!) Texting is my favorite form of pre-trip communication with my guests. It provides ease and clarity, with easy review of communications that talking may miss .... or forget. AND, I can send more photos, if requested :-) 2. Wifi is available with Starlink's great connection. Site and password are written inside the Cabin for your use. 3. Our local "La Porte General Store" stocks most of the necessities as well! They also have a Deli area with breakfast sandwiches, chili and made to order Deli sandwiches. (Their Homemade, Sunday-only, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy is the Best!!) 4. The Queen futon is a VERY comfortable Serta mattress bed in the livingroom. Sorry, but it was mishandled by guests and can now only be used as a couch at this time ... :-( 5. EMERGENCY EXITS: - Front door, Laundry Room door and Top/Second Floor has an upstairs bedroom to an exterior door which accesses the upper balcony. 6. We do have one locked closet downstairs for our personal supplies Thanks for allowing us this private space.
