Piacenza's on Wabikon UNO - Lakeside Cabin
Piacenza's on Wabikon UNO - Lakeside Cabin
Description
Wake up to sunrise views over Wabikon Lake from this cozy, modern studio cabin — a peaceful, lakeside retreat surrounded by protected shoreline and forest. Family owned since 1947—a rare retreat for both quiet reflection and lakeside adventure. We list another cabin (Piacenza's on Wabikon DUÉ) that sleeps 4. The space Your dream cabin getaway starts here — right on the shores of pristine Wabikon Lake, surrounded by federally protected shoreline, forest and pure Northwoods solitude. One of only four cabins on the entire lake, this brand-new retreat (re-built in 2019) brings modern comfort to timeless beauty. Originally part of our family’s 1947 fishing resort, the property carries generations of history and charm. The connected twin lakes - one studied by the Smithsonian for its rare natural diversity — remain almost completely undeveloped, making this a truly one-of-a-kind escape. Inside, you’ll find a wall of windows that brings the outdoors in, a full kitchen stocked for your stay, and a spacious bathroom with a shower. A large bar-height table doubles as a dining space and workstation — perfect for relaxed meals or remote work with a view. The inviting West Elm Enzo sectional easily converts into a pullout-queen bed, cotton linens, quilts and plenty of cozy pillows (sleeps 2). Step out onto your private upper deck for morning coffee or head down to your private patio just below the cabin for quiet reflection by the water. The Uno lakeside patio is one of our favorite secluded areas of the entire compound. Spend your days hiking, biking, paddling, or fishing, then take in the views on the lakeside patio or relax under the stars by the private pier. UNO is also equipped with two kayaks and lifejackets for your pleasure. This open-concept studio was thoughtfully designed for comfort, accessibility, and stunning lake views — with a fully wheelchair-accessible main cabin and upper deck. Reconstructed in 2019 and part of our family’s historic 1947 fishing resort, this spot blends nostalgia, craftsmanship, and peace — all surrounded by protected forest and pristine, undeveloped shoreline. Come unplug, unwind, and enjoy the simple beauty of lake life — where every sunrise and sunset feels like your own private show. We will do everything we can to make your visit a relaxing and pleasant one. We extend my family's home to you. Guest access Make yourself at home—enjoy your own private deck and patio with peaceful surroundings. We often greet guests personally, and when timing doesn’t align, keypad entry makes self check-in simple and stress-free. Other things to note Our family cabins were re-built in 2019 in the footprints of the original 1920's cabins and campsites. My parents started leasing this special place in 1947, and it has been family owned and run continuously since then. This land is our family retreat and is truly loved. We welcome you to relax, unplug, and breathe in this sanctuary. It is our hope that you will love your stay and plan to return in the future. While you may find other Northwoods cabins, few offer the family history, craftsmanship of a local builder, and intentional design woven into every detail. Our family works together but runs two different businesses today. Johnnie’s Resort Bar & Cabins (run by my brother and sister-in-law) has operated non-stop since October 4, 1947. Take a short 200 ft stroll to enjoy a drink at the bar, pizza on the patio, and evenings around the bonfire. Piacenza’s on Wabikon was built in the footprints of two our family’s original fishing cabins, carrying deep roots and family history. We’re grateful for your respect and care as you become part of its ongoing story.
