Pass a week away from 'civilisation' in this bunkie on the shore of a 70 acre island - perfect for those adventurous enough to be self sufficient. Luxury it is not; appliance laden it is not - paradise it is! Lake Nipissing is 3:45 hrs north of Toronto. 44 miles long, famed for it's open horizons & spectacular sunsets. $10/d parking Websearch gardenislandretreat The ‘wild’ animals are very tame so sorry; No pets. The space Get away from stress of modern life by glamping in total serenity on a 70 acre nature reserve. The bunkie is VERY BASIC but it has all you need to camp comfortably: - log fired stove (for cooking; drying; warming up) - gas camping stove (when too hot to have the range fired up) - gas fridge (ice for G&T) - sofa-bed - mezzanine for 2 sleeping bags - 16x16' deck/platform for dining on....or for pitching a tent (most we have had staying is family of 5) - screen doors - 2 barbecues It is not for people who object to using an out-house. It is not for people who need a TV or video games. It is not for people who are bored by nature. ..& you will come across snakes; bugs etc...you’ve been warned - you will be staying in a forest so creatures go with the territory. (hopefully that covers the 'accuracy' tip..?) Above all else it is a sanctuary not only for you but all the wildlife which call the island home: please respect that. I truly hope you enjoy your stay. Guest access You will be picked up from the marina on arrival and taken to the island, and on departure taken back to the marina. $10/d parking. Maxim can give you a lift in to the marina should you need (weather permitting) Obviously logistics on a private island dictate that notification of time of arrival is confirmed as early as possible. No wifi, tv, electrics but there is mobile/cellular 'phone reception. Other things to note BOATING: There is no charge for the tender to & from the marina. PARKING: $10/day CANOE: $20/day (pls advise ahead of arrival if required) Please wear life jackets at all times. SAFETY: Please read the Intro Document First Aid Kit & Fire extinguisher in Bunkie. SMOKERS: Please ensure you EXTINGUISH all butts in ashtrays or firepit. Please do NOT smoke inside the bunkie as a courtesy to future guests.
