The space The Bayless Dune Lodge at West Beach is a TRULY AMAZING, lodge-themed, vacation rental property in Miller Beach, Indiana, a scenic beach community completely surrounded by the Indiana Dunes National Park! Just a short walk (about 3 and a half blocks) to one of the finest white sand beaches on Lake Michigan, the Lodge features a beautiful, heated in-ground pool and sits on nearly half an acre of land nestled into the "Bayless Dune Nature Preserve." The Lodge is located right around the corner from the main entrance to the Indiana Dunes National Park's "West Beach" recreation area. The home boasts a rustic, restful lodge-style décor. The exterior has all the charm of a historic Cape Cod style home, but with the completion of a near total gut-rehab renovation in 2018, the inside now has amazingly modern, high-end features! Once you enter the Lodge, you will be astonished by the open concept kitchen (completely gut rehabbed in 2018) with imported granite countertops, black stainless steel Samsung appliances, breakfast bar and peninsula and the adjoining dining room with its beautiful stained glass Tiffany-style chandelier! The Lodge also has two luxurious, spa-quality bathrooms each with high-end Kohler fixtures. The hall bath has a gorgeous walk-in tempered glass shower enclosure with a rain shower, hand shower and natural stone mosaics on the floor and walls. The master suite features an insanely large bathroom with a European-style, "wet room" bathing area, Carrera marble and a gorgeous, modern deep soaking tub! The HUGE walk-in wet-room features a rain shower, two hand showers, three body sprays, and a free-standing, deep soaking tub! This bathroom alone will make your group feel like you are staying at a luxury spa resort! On top of all that, the huge backyard is nearly half and acre of land directly adjacent to the Bayless Dune Nature Preserve Trailhead. The property features a large heated, in-ground swimming pool, a shaded pool-side lounge area, and two outdoor dining areas! There's a wood deck off the kitchen/dining room with an outdoor dining table for six. There is also a poolside patio directly off the family room with two outdoor dining tables that can accommodate 14 people! The poolside patio also has a classic Weber charcoal grill. On top of all that, the backyard features a fire pit surrounded by comfy Adirondack chairs. It's the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day with a bonfire and smores! This unique vacation rental stands head and shoulders above the rest! Once you visit the Bayless Dune Lodge, you won't want to leave! Guest access Guest have full access to the house, pool and yard which is nearly half an acre of property directly adjacent to the Bayless Dune Nature Preserve. Our pool is open for swimming (weather permitting of course) from May until the middle of October. The pool heater is turned on once the weather outside is consistently above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. With the pool heater on, the coldest the water will ever be at any time is 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature of the heated pool's water is set depending on the weather. The differential is between 80-84 degrees Fahrenheit. When it's hot outside, (above 80 degrees) we set the pool heater to 80 so swimming will be refreshing. But during the cooler weather (below 80 degrees), we set the heater to 84 degrees so the water feels warm during cool weather swimming. An absolutely beautiful swimming beach is a short walk, just 3 and a half blocks, from the Lodge. Unfortunately we can not control Lake Michigan's water temperature. LOL! Other things to note There is an age requirement for renting this property just like at a car rental businesses. In order to book this property, potential renters must be above the age of 25 and have a valid, official government-issued ID on file with Airbnb. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES OR SPECIAL EVENTS! FIREPLACE DISCLAMER: NOTICE - ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES INSIDE THE HOUSE! The two indoor fireplaces in the Lodge are simply decorative. They are not functional either for wood burning or for gas fires. Each fireplace is equipped with an electric light and logs set up which mimics the ambiance, glow and flicker of a lit fireplace. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE LIGHT A REAL FIRE inside either of the fireplaces as that could very likely burn the house down! There is however an outdoor firepit for guests to have bonfires if they like.
