It is located above the state-recognized resort of Goldlauter-Heidersbach in the Geiersberg recreation area (650 m above NHN). The cottage is the starting point for hikes to many worthwhile destinations, such as the well-known hiking trail "Rennsteig"; the highest mountain of the Thuringian Forest "Großer Beerberg"; the Schmücke; Skibaude or Suhler Hütte. The well-developed and signposted network of hiking trails leads you directly through the UNESCO biosphere reserve. Experience your vacation in untouched nature and enjoy the silence at the foot of the Rennsteig. In the immediate vicinity (about 100 m) is a restaurant. Shopping (groceries) can be found in the village of Goldlauter-Heidersbach (about 1000 m).
