LeTerrain - Magical Wooden Yurt
Description
Come and stay in our magical wooden yurt on 450 acres of pristine mature forests over 5 distinct peaks spanning an elevation range of 300 feet. This is a truly wilderness/wildlife off-the-grid outpost and meant for true nature lovers. Feel free to visit our website for the full story of LeTerrain.land and what to expect from your wilderness experience! The space Please note that 25% of our cabin fee goes to our ecological initiatives and protecting this vibrant wilderness. The value in our experiences comes with access to our vast and private wilderness park. If the wilderness experience is your main goal you will understand and be pleased with this value proposition. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Your experience starts with a 5-minute walk from the main house where you are welcome to park your car. In the summer and fall seasons feel free to drive your car off-road on a simple trail right to the yurt. The yurt is located at the northern end of our 450 Acre land parcel which is surrounded by hundreds of acres of more wilderness. Your drinking water, a cooler with ice, firewood for the woodstove (October-May), are all at the yurt. All you need is your clothes, bedding, and food. As mentioned, the yurt is off-the-grid, meaning there is no running water. Depending on your provider there is minimal cell reception at the yurt, but you will find reception on any of the 5 peaks on the range. The closest is just behind the yurt and a five to ten minutes walk to the top. Enjoy the WiFi detox and connect with nature! Note! while we do our best with regular cleaning/maintenance, from time to time a mouse may find its way in to the yurt. Please make sure your food is packed away when unattended. :) There is no bathroom and minimal kitchen or kitchen supplies in the yurt. However, you will have access to a quaint and well-kept outhouse outside of the yurt. Enjoy the modern BBQ for grilling under the stars. Oh, the stars!!! There is NO light and NO noise pollution in our night skies. The stars on a clear night are breathtaking. In fact, we are part of an organization that is working on making this region a Dark Sky Preserve recognized by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. The potential of this facility is vast. We are open to all kinds of group visits and gatherings that include our Dogstar and Stargate1 cabin as well as camping options in the clearings surrounding the yurt. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and proposals regarding your potential stay. We are here to help facilitate your immersion back into the beautiful wilderness. If you need special arrangements for late check-in or assistance in getting to the yurt, please let us know with your initial inquiry. We will be more than happy to accommodate your requests. Guest access The entire 450 Acre range of 5 peaks over a 300-foot vertical drop is yours to explore, ride, climb and adventure around in. This is hearty Canadian shield country. Huge mixed hardwood forests mixed with rocky peaks, large open hilltops and wetlands, river, creeks and springs all make up for an extremely diverse ecosystem. You and your party will have use of this entire range. We have 10-20 km (depending on the season) of trails throughout the land. Many kilometers are perfect for mountain biking and range from beginner to expert. During the winter, bring your own snowshoes or cross-country skis. When temperatures have been consistently cold, the creeks freeze enough for ice skating. Our space and the focus are the outdoors and, for those who love to immerse themselves in the wildest of the wild while having a comfortable home base from which to launch adventures. The natural land marks and borders makes it easier to orient yourself on the range, however we recommend GPS based apps and compass if you plan to venture deep in to the wilderness on or off the trails. Some hikes can take more than a day all within the land. We can offer suggestions on hikes and itineraries, even guide through trails, or just leave you to your own adventures. Other things to note There are a few peaks (including the one in front of the cabin) that have quite steep descents. If you are with young children, they should be with you and monitored closely at all times. This is a deep wilderness experience one must remember despite the very comfortable yurt setting. Speaking of deep wilderness, from time to time a mouse will find its way in to the yurt. Please keep your food packed away at night just in case!
