Quiet Lakeside Retreat #1 - Hummingbird Suite
Quiet Lakeside Retreat #1 - Hummingbird Suite
Description
A quiet retreat on the shore of Ames Lake. Watch eagles and osprey with your morning coffee. Spend your afternoon swimming or boating. Toast marshmallows after sundown at the beach. Close to Redmond, Seattle and the mountains, the Master Suite features a private deck, antique furniture, a clawfoot tub and a shared Hot Tub! Destination Mountain Bike trails up the road, Ames Lake just down the stairs. No smoking. Pets welcome. The space If you're looking for modern, sleek, up-scale lodgings, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for nature, quiet and a sense of magic, read on. This house is quite large, and includes three separate units. The Guest Suite has its own entrance, a huge bedroom and bathroom, and a private deck overlooking the lake. It also has exclusive access to a large living room. The Suite has its own refrigerator, microwave and tea/coffee set-up, and minimal dishes. This unit does NOT include a full kitchen. We are right on Ames Lake, close to hiking and biking trails, and within a quick drive of many great restaurants. The Suite also has many books you can borrow (just return them before you leave), a sun room and other amenities which make this a perfect getaway or a place to just get a restful night's sleep. The Suite has one queen bed and two extra-long twin beds. The room is accessible to wheelchairs (though the front door threshold is a few inches high, and there is also a threshold for the shower), and those with limited mobility. Bathroom has grab bars. Access to the lake from the unit is either down four flights of stairs or via a winding, sometimes steep path without stairs. We have a canoe, kayaks and a paddle boat available to use for free, as well as a large pontoon boat which you can rent. Guest access The Master Suite is listed as an 'Entire Home/Guest Suite,' but it is part of a larger house. This suite includes the private room, deck and bath. It has a private entrance, and you will also have access to the great room (music, yoga, lounging and reading) as well as the yard and the lake. There is no access to a full kitchen. I live in the other end of the house, and that area is private. Downstairs is a separate unit. Other things to note From the house you can walk to the lake (down four flights of steps) and to hiking trails. Everything else requires a car. Restaurants are 10-20 minutes away, but well worth the drive! Everything to the south of the front hall is yours to enjoy. Everything to the north is our private space. Noise can travel through the house. We ask that guests be considerate of each other and not make too huge of a racket. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. There are cats and a dog on the premises. Though they stay out of the guest suite, if you have strong allergies this is not the house for you. Also, if you plan to bring a pet please tell me ahead of time! There is a fee of $10/day per pet. There has been some discussion of late about the fees on AirBnB. I charge extra for extra guests (day guests $5/apiece, night guests $10/apiece), because there is are extra costs (cleaning, utilities, etc.) with more people here. I charge a cleaning fee. This is to keep the cost of the rental down per day, and encourage longer rentals. I do not expect you to clean before you leave, other than doing the dishes and tidying up. My goal is to keep this rental reasonably priced, so that more people are able to enjoy this beautiful property in this stunning location. We want you to feel welcome here. You are our guest! Let this be your retreat from the city, in the woods on the lake.
