Wairere is one of the finest estates in the district featuring a luxe 4 bedroom homestead nestled within 4 acres of heritage gardens designed by the famous Edna Walling in 1924. Stunning garden & rural views abound from every room - outdoor living areas lead to stone edged gardens, pool, tennis court & tramp. Located on a quiet country lane 10 mins to Mansfield or Lake Eildon & 20 mins to Mt Buller gate. A tranquil retreat ideal for couples & families wanting to relax, unwind & reset in nature. The space Wairere's main living room features two large comfy leather lounges, the perfect place to curl up to enjoy the open fire, glass of wine and a movie on our large Smart TV. Enjoy lazy late morning breakfasts, while gazing at the fields and cattle grazing in the paddocks, all while listening to the abundant bird life singing in the garden. The kids will be endlessly entertained by the large array of outdoor and indoor activities, which cater for every child’s needs from exploring the expansive gardens, to fun in the large 10x4m pool, a spot of tennis, or a bounce on the Olympic in ground trampoline. On rainy days relax watching a movie, or select from one of our games (board or electronic PS3), puzzles or books to while away a lazy hour or two. The real hero of this property is the abundance of outdoor spaces - in Summer, Autumn, Spring and even Winter you’ll enjoy relaxing on the outdoor lounges and bean bags with a rug, cuppa, wine or book all while enjoying the vista of our expansive lawns, elms, cedars and oaks - which were all planted by Edna herself 100 years ago! In the evenings enjoy a poolside BBQ overlooking our gardens dappled in the late afternoon sun with views to the paddocks beyond. Conclude the evening by relaxing under the Milky Way with a wine by the warmth of the crackling stone firepit. Wairere offers a truly memorable experience where families can reconnect and indulge in the beautiful gardens and rural surrounds. THE PRACTICAL STUFF: On a more practical note, there is ducted heating and cooling throughout the homestead plus panel heaters and ceiling fans in areas that include the covered outdoor area. The homestead features 4 bedrooms (7-8 beds in total) with stunning garden and farm views from every room. The bedroom options are as follows: Master Bedroom - King bed with ensuite bathroom Bedroom 2 - King bed (can be converted to 2 singles on request). Bedroom 3 - Single over double bed plus trundle bed accommodating a couple or 3-4 children. Bedroom 4 - King Single and single bed (with inner spring mattresses). Our two bathrooms plus separate toilet and laundry inc. quality toiletries plus a washing machine and dryer, heated towel rails and hairdryer. For our skiers we also offer a drying cupboard in the laundry. Our kitchen is the heart of the home and is fully equipped with full size fridge, large 90cm cooktop and oven, Miele dishwasher, microwave and quality dinnerware and appliances. It is located adjacent to the large 12 seat dining room with stunning rural views. The covered outdoor dining area and pool is also just around the corner - on those warm summer mornings you can step straight from the kitchen to the private outdoor BBQ area to enjoy a cool beverage or dip in the pool. For those with an electric vehicle we do have an undercover PowerPoint in the double carport which you can use during your stay. Original artwork and designer furniture decorate this stylish home, the features are too many to include, however rest assured every space has been interior designed with comfort, practicality and serenity at front of mind. Finally, the covered front veranda provides another sitting area with two outdoor lounges and teak armchair and is a fabulous spot to enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea while enjoying the beautiful rural and garden views. IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE: 1. We accept bookings from couples groups over 28 years. Please ensure you add all guests to your booking and tell us who is staying and what brings you to the area (particularly important if you don’t have any reviews yourself). 2. We can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests (inc. infants) at the property. The studio cottage next door (Wairere Rest) sleeps a further two guests and can be booked separately (please enquire for rates and booking details). Guest access The cottage, sheds and pool equipment area are not available for guest access. You are welcome to enter the paddocks directly behind the property to admire the beautiful views over Mt Buller and Timbertop at sunset but gates must be kept closed at all times and guests should stay away from the cattle and be mindful of snakes in the summer. Other things to note 1. No loud music and strictly no parties including bucks/hens nights. No unauthorised guests at the property. No noise outdoors after 10pm. No groups under 28 years of age. Please refer to house rules for further information. 2. The solar heated pool is available for use from October - mid April (including school holidays). Outside of these dates the pool will be covered to protect it from leaves and debris. 3. Young Children - Guests should note that Wairere is a working farm with unfenced water, farm animals, wildlife and farm equipment nearby therefore guests with younger children should consider these risks prior to booking to decide whether the property is suitable for their family group.
