Description
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cottage. Zula's Escape includes almost 5 acres of forested land with 400 feet of frontage on Fetke Lake, just a few minutes north of Rhinelander. Water access on this no-wake 11-acre lake is via a rustic boardwalk through a unique bog (featuring larches and pitcher plants). Use the dock for swimming, fishing, paddleboarding, or just enjoying your morning coffee as the sun rises. High-speed internet! The space Freshly updated cozy cottage. Enjoy remodeled bathrooms and kitchen, new floors, and fresh paint. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, both with queen beds. The main floor has a full kitchen with custom wood counters and a farmhouse sink, a dining room big enough to accommodate 6+, and a great room with a fireplace, a bar, and views of the lake. Walk out onto the back deck, enjoy the backyard fire pit, or walk down to the lake. The third bedroom is in the basement - it has two twin upper bunk beds with a queen below, and includes an egress window. The basement also features a large room with a bar/kitchenette, exposed rafters, two couches, and a large-screen TV. You can cast shows from your device using Chromecast or get a few of the local channels via the antenna. 200 Mpbs internet and wi-fi throughout the cottage. Outside, head down to your private boardwalk and dock that gives you access to Fetke Lake, a quiet no-wake lake with bass and panfish. You'll have use of our kayaks, stand-up paddleboard, and our floating dock/trampoline. Once the lake is frozen solid, clear off a spot for ice skating, or do some cross-country skiing. Or if the woods is more your thing, go for a walk on the salamander trail in the largely-forested 5-acre plot. Guest access There are 4+ parking spots in the paved driveway. Bike, walk around the neighborhood, or access miles and miles of trails down the road. Nearby Northern Highland-American Legion State Park is just miles away and features 225,000 acres that will delight nature lovers. Other things to note Note that this is wild land. There are critters, large and small, that can be a delight to witness, but can also pose some risks. We have everything from deer, black bears, and foxes, to ticks, deer flies, and mosquitoes (although so far, the mosquitoes haven't been bad). The lake, too, poses risks, so we ask everyone to use their best judgment and enjoy the house and property responsibly.
