Welcome to Blackhouse! This newly renovated cabin in Sautee Nacoochee is less than 15 minutes from downtown Helen, GA. This one-of-a kind cabin boasts a unique, rustic-modern design. Paying homage to the Helen/Sautee area, you'll find local art, antiques and unique treasures, paired with the modern touches you expect to find in the finest of Airbnb's. Blackhouse is nestled under a canopy of trees in a cabin community surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. Front Porch: Upon arrival to Blackhouse you are greeted by a large open-air front porch with 2 ceiling fans, 4 rocking chairs and a porch swing. There is even a coffee table on the porch to put your feet up and relax from a long day of exploring. Living Area: As you enter the cabin you are in the main living room. This room is an open concept sharing space with the kitchen area. The living room has gas fireplace with a stone surround and hearth. A generous 52" flat panel Vizio smart TV allows you to access your personal entertainment apps like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and more. A sofa table sits below the TV where you'll find area appropriate books, magazines and our cabin guest journal. Additionally, the sofa table holds a Sonos Symfonisk wi-fi speaker for playing your favorite music from your cell phone. We even have a cabin guitar available for use for anyone that can play! A comfy leather couch, rustic-industrial coffee table and a cinema chair rounds off the living room. Kitchen: The rustic red kitchen is our favorite part of the cabin. The kitchen boasts a large black granite counter/eating area with 4 stools for meals or drinks or just hanging out. You'll also find our hot sauce rack equipped with specially procured hot sauces available for guest use when you want to add a little heat to your favorite meal. The kitchen is equipped with Frigidaire stainless steel appliances including a stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, and a dishwasher. Just about everything you need to cook a typical meal is included. Stainless pots and pans, a blender, toaster, crockpot, cooking utensils, baking sheet, cutter, openers, and mixers are all here! Within the kitchen cabinets you'll find matching white dishes and serving bowls, silverware, and all the drinking glasses you could ask for; beer glasses, whiskey glasses, wine glasses, shot glasses and daily drinking glasses. A black range hood, black, deep, single-bowl Kohler sink, black faucet with pull-out sprayer round off the kitchen counter space. Blackhouse includes certain typical spices, seasonings, and cooking oil including salt, pepper and olive all. A Cuisinart dual coffee station with both single brew (K-cup) AND coffee pot options. We provide a sampling of coffee (both ground and single serve) and individual-use bagged teas. We also provide honey, sweeteners, and occasionally seasonal treats like apple cider and hot chocolate. Bedrooms: Blackhouse has two bedrooms. Each room is equipped with a sleep machine, convenience outlets and charging ports, and a nice sized flat panel smart TV. The master bedroom has a big comfy king bed with lots of pillows of varying firmness. Better Homes and Gardens sheets and a luxurious duvet top-off the bed. This spacious bedrooms includes a bookshelf, a tool box with cards and card games, two nightstands, and a full length mirror. This room does not have a closet for guest use but does include a clothing rack with hangers, a large dresser, and a luggage rack. The second bedroom includes a luxurious queen bed and a bunkbed. The bunkbed is typically reserved for children but a smaller (and lighter) adult could sleep on the bottom bunk. This room is super spacious with two nightstands, a dresser, game shelf, and a large walk-in closet. Bathrooms: Blackhouse has two bathrooms (ensuites) adjoining each bedroom. The master bath is size for one or two guests. It includes a nice size vanity, mirror, shelf, luxurious Turkish towels, a toilet and shower/tub. The shower area includes shampoo, conditioner, and body washer for your convenience. The master bath has three towel hooks for drying and a towel hook next to the shower for easy access. The second bathroom is huge with a large vanity and two sinks. This is appropriately sized for the number of guests in the second bedroom. You'll find all the same features and amenities and the master bathroom! Deck: Off the kitchen is the back entertaining deck with a swing bed, table for 6, beverage cooler and other decor items. We've even thrown in a couple party games to keep yourself occupied. The deck is screened allowing your to relax in comfort without being troubled. Fire pit: Off the deck you will find out fire pit with seating for 6 with Adirondack style seating. Firewood is provided for guests for a small convenience fee. Blackhouse is located in a small cabin community a few winding county roads from the wonder-filled Alpine Village of Helen. The community entrance is private with a two-way gravel street on a gradual incline as you enter. A curved, rock-paved driveway leads to somewhat circular driveway. Blackhouse is one level cabin with a small ramp at the entrance. There are no stairs required to access the cabin. We are always available by phone or text. We love interacting with our guests if they have questions or need suggestions. Blackhouse is located in a small cabin community a few winding county roads from the wonder-filled Alpine Village of Helen. The community entrance is private with a two-way gravel street on a gradual incline as you enter. Uber and Lyft are generally not available in this area. There are other local transportation providers including van, bus, limousine, and cars, that may be available. Please reach out to us for more information. Once in town, you can rent e-bikes, bicycles, or a golf cart. There are also carriage rides available for adults and mini-train rides from kids. Blackhouse is a cabin nestled in the mountains. As such guests may encounter area wildlife including bears, dear, raccoons, etc. Blackhouse has a metal roof perfect for rainy days, but it does make a louder noise when acorns from trees above drop. We have equipped Blackhouse with lots of treasure both personal and those procured specifically for the cabin.
