The space Whispering Pines is the perfect private retreat under soaring trees. The property is fully fenced and once you shut the gate, you will feel as if you are transported into the secluded coastal Oregon forest. The home feels tucked away, private and tranquil, yet close to the conveniences of town and Hwy 101. Natural light fills the home from its many windows with views of the sky and treetops. Any time of year, you’ll catch glimpses of the sunny blue sky, the rain drops or treetops gently swaying in the wind. Large covered patio and courtyard, with large sliding doors from the living area and master bedroom. Stroll the grounds and decorative treasures scattered throughout the garden. You may see the wildlife and timid deer in the neighborhood too. The layout of the property and its many windows make it easy to keep an eye on the kids from every room in the home. With each booking, Whispering Pines offers two separate living spaces on the same property. The main house lower level has a master bedroom with a newly added king size bed, an ensuite half-bath and laundry, a kitchen, dining table, desk, living room fireplace and full main bath with both a shower and a clawfoot soaking tub. The upstairs loft has two single beds (that can easily be moved to make one big bed), a large sofa and a desk overlooking the main living area. The separate guesthouse offers a full bath (shower) and queen bed with views of the tree tops and courtyard. The guesthouse has a second story entrance only, which can be accessed via the stairs inside the main house through the deck, or using the exterior stairs (see photos). The spacious upper wooden deck with outdoor bench adjoins the two spaces and is a perfect spot to relax overlooking the property among the treetops and twinkling lights. This versatile layout offers a secondary, separate space for friends, teens or extended family to come along and enjoy the Coast with you. Or your teens will love the independence and privacy of the guesthouse. Gather around the courtyard, firepit or kitchen - and after a long day, turn in for the night to your own private spaces. Your booking also includes access to the hobby room, where currently we store our outdoor furniture and other items like a cooler, life vests, fishing poles. There is also a fish cleaning station for guest use. Both properties share a fence with a gate between them for access. Whether you are looking for getaway full of adventure, romantic weekend, friends trip or a peaceful vacation to recharge, Whispering Pines is a special Oregon Coast Oasis getaway! There is a universal EV charging plug (Level 2, 200V, 50Amp) for charging electric vehicles. Look for the fish hanging on the light fixture at the front of the house that faces the driveway. The fish has the letters "EV" on it with a purple arrow pointing toward the EV plug. The plug is mounted on the wall facing the propane tank, in the box marked with the blue letters "EV" as shown in the photos. No cords or adapters are provided. TV Streaming is available using the Roku guest account to access your own favorite accounts like Netflix and Hulu. A DVD player and ton of DVD’s for a movie night await. A "starter pack" of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, shampoo, body wash and laundry detergent is provided. Note: Please be mindful of the Fire Danger Levels in our beautiful area. These levels are posted around town, at the entrance to town and CoosFPA website as well. When the Fire Danger Level is Low (green), fire pit use is allowed. Fire pit use is prohibited when the level is Moderate (blue), High (yellow) and Extreme (red). Don’t forget to enjoy the one-of-a-kind staircase hand painted by children that grew up here, a lasting symbol of the love and care that was put into creating this special home! Guest access The property is fully fenced, allowing for privacy. We prefer the front gate remain closed to keep the deer and wildlife from grazing on the plantings that make property so secluded and special. Especially overnight and when leaving or staying for extended periods. Be advised there is one step to get to the main door. There are also interior stairs to access the second story loft and exterior stairs to access the upper deck and guest house entrance. Leaves and pine needles and wet weather can make the deck slippery. Use caution! Generally speaking, we have a long gated driveway. There is room for ATVs and most ATV trailers within our private parking area just inside the gate. The driveway is 60 feet deep to the gate. However, it can be challenging to navigate trailers as the gate is 11 feet wide and bordered by large trees, and we are at the end of a tight cul-de-sac loop. The entrance is a pinch zone between trees and the street utility poles. Trailers must be backed in or backed out. There is a utility pole on the street as well. There is no room to turn vehicles around on the property. There is room for two trucks side by side in width without trailers. We have accommodated as many as 5 cars at hone time, but that is tight. We recommend only one truck with an attached open trailer setup at a time. The limiting factor is the width of the driveway, which narrows at the entrance. See photos for reference. The area near the house is widest, and can barely accommodate three car widths, although that would be very tight. There is no street parking, this property is on a cul-de-sac. Blocking the street or neighbors will not be tolerated. Lakeside is the only city on the Oregon Coast with city-wide dune access! From this property, you can ride your ATV directly to the PAVED ATV route (to the dunes!) or into the town of Lakeside! Check in, unload your gear and ride your ATVs and SXS to Lakeside's restaurants, friendly coffee stops, marina and grocery store. Grab a snack or coffee - then zoom off to the dunes! The paved ATV route includes access to Lakeside food spots, friendly coffee stops, the marina and grocery store. Grab a bite or coffee - then zoom off to the dunes on your ATV right from town! When in town, slow down…and make sure you review the regulations to avoid fines. We are 2.5 miles on PAVED road from Spinreel Dune Access. It is very important when riding through the neighborhood, please go slow and be respectful of neighbors and mindful of the noise. You must follow all City Requirements & Regulations (see photos for ATV Route Rules). Riders *Must have a valid Driver License. *Must have an ATV Safety Education Card. *Vehicle must have an Oregon ATV Permit. All-terrain vehicle (ATV) operating permits (Stickers) are required for all public land off-road use in Oregon, including the ODNRA. The permits are available to purchase online *Must have Liability Insurance. *Must remain on Route. *Do not drive on shoulders. *Follow Posted Traffic Signs and Laws. *Use proper hand signals or blinkers. *Ride Responsible at all times! *Do not use an ATV under the influence. *It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly permit, allow or encourage the operation or driving of an ATV by a person under the age of 16. *Alcohol is prohibited anywhere on the Dunes, whether in an opened or closed container. *The US Forest Service and Coos County have decibel limits on the Dunes. If you want your vehicle tested for decibel levels, contact the Sheriff’s Office *Safety Flags are also required on the Dunes; the flag must be red or orange and 9ft high while the vehicle operates. This critical safety item allows riders to see each other at different elevations as they travel through the Dunes. *City code has been amended to conform with state transportation laws, owing to issues with law enforcement coordination. ATVs that are equipped with lighting that meets the requirements for any motor vehicle operating in the dark may be on the roads in Lakeside at any time. ATVs that are not so equipped would be in violation if operating after dusk.*More information can be found at the City of Lakeside website, where you can also find a route map and the rules. QUIET HOURS at Whispering Pines is 10pm to 7am.
