The space As Sly as a Red Fox Red Fox Cottage offers a peaceful retreat tucked along a quiet road in Alpine Lake Resort, Terra Alta, WV. This charming 3-bedroom (all king beds) getaway is perfect for couples, friends, or a small group. Adorned with playful fox decor, it features a cozy electric fireplace, canoe chandelier, and brand-new designer furniture and bedding. Just a short walk from Alpine Lake via a scenic trail, the home offers comfort and nature at your doorstep. Pets are not permitted. Cottage Features: • Well-equipped kitchen • WiFi & Roku TV (living room) • Charcoal BBQ grill (you provide the charcoal) • Standard coffee maker • Poly Amish-made rocking chairs • AC unit in the main-level living room • Deck with patio seating • Fire pit in the yard – perfect for evening s’mores and wildlife watching (stop and grab a bundle of firewood at your local store) Sleeping Arrangements: • Upstairs: 1 king bedroom with en-suite tub bath • Main level: 2 king bedrooms with shared large walk-in shower • Basement: Washer/dryer & patio furniture storage (not finished living space) Kayaks: • 2 kayaks included (summer only), stored at the boathouse. Instructions in the guest guide at the rental. Alpine Lake Resort Amenities: • 18-hole golf course • Indoor heated pool, gym, game room & mini-golf (key access, must drive) • 150-acre lake for swimming, fishing, and kayaking • Beach area – 10-minute walk • Hiking trails throughout the resort Nature & Setting: Enjoy acorns, ferns, and forest views. Wildlife is often seen from the deck. The natural stone path may be uneven. Fall brings leaves and acorns, adding to the woodsy charm. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire cottage, including the deck, yard, fire pit, and all indoor spaces. A welcome guide inside the home includes access codes and instructions for the kayaks and washer/dryer. Resort amenities like the pool, gym, lake, and game room are available with key access (included)—some are within walking distance; others require a short drive. Other things to note Restaurants: There are limited dining options nearby, so we recommend bringing your own food and groceries. Resort Speed Limit: 25 mph throughout most of the resort; 15 mph in designated areas. Please drive carefully. Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM — thank you for respecting our peaceful mountain setting. Basement Info: The basement is used for storing patio furniture and includes a washer/dryer for guest use. While it's not a finished space, it's accessible if needed. For safety, we’ve installed a lock on the basement door to protect small children. The access code is available in the rental guidebook. Coffee Maker: Standard drip-style that uses ground coffee. No filters required. House Rules: By booking this home, you agree to NO smoking and NO pets. Pool Access: The public indoor pool at the lodge is available to guests—key is provided at the rental. Please check with the lodge for current hours, as it may close without notice for cleaning or private events. Personal Items: Please note: toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shaving cream, razors, and toothbrushes are not provided. Be sure to pack your essentials.
