This region of the Catskills is usually about 10 degrees cooler than the city, and because of the open barn layout, we find that the house stays cool and comfortable (a max. in the low 70s), even in mid-summer. Guests will be able to access two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main living space has a gourmet kitchen, island with bar stools, a table that seats 8, and a seating area around the wood burning fireplace stove. Outside there is casual seating for 4 and a fire pit (spring through early autumn only). In addition, the property sits on 5.5 acres of land and is near by to great hiking, restaurants, swimming, tubing, and skiing. Our home is in the lovely Oliverea Valley portion of Big Indian. Feel free to wander the property and up the cleared path on the hillside at your own risk, as hillside is steep and can be slippery. You can reach the Esopus Creek across the street for a dip of you are feeling adventurous – but please be respectful of neighbors and private property. Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain trail-head is just a short drive away.
