Villa Zagara Lecce, is a vaulted Villa less than ten minutes from the old Lecce city centre. Zagara is set in approximately 8 hectares of Olive and Citrus groves, in historic Valle della Cupa. This is the area where many old Leccesse families built their summer Palazzo and Villas. It is a Villa of great beauty and a building designed for socialising and fun with family and friends, while at the same time offering ample opportunity and space for quiet contemplation. The space The villa is ideally placed to visit the many beautiful beaches on both the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Both coasts are approximately 15 minutes drive from the villa. Zagara is less than 10 minutes drive from Lecce, in beautiful countryside and surrounded by Olive and Citrus groves. The Villa also has extensive gardens and terraces providing ample space to relax, exercise or socialise. The large heated pool overlooks a sunken Olive grove with views across Valle delle Cupa, and provides 10 full size loungers, ample shade and an outside shower. The kitchen is spacious, highly equipped and can easily accommodate 12 diners. The kitchen’s double glass doors open onto a large terrace with a 12m pergola covering a long dinning table for 14 diners and additional cosy seating areas. There is more terrace seating for 14, in full sun. Steps down from this terrace lead to a secret garden containing more citrus trees and some figs. There is another ‘quiet’ terrace which is ideal for reading, quiet contemplation or Yoga. The quiet terrace leads to another pergola that is planted with Jasmine, and leads to the swimming pool. Guest access We will provide the exact map position and full directions. There is ample parking for many cars outside the main gate. The closest shops are a 5-minute drive away.
