Antrim county has more lakes than any other county in Michigan. This is a wonderful place to spend the winter holidays It’s a most beautiful time of the year here. BUT ONLY IF you have FOUR-WHEEL or ALL WHEEL DRIVE. And have good tires as well. Most of the time snow is not an issue but you never know with mother nature. We use a reliable snow removal company but with this house you should have All wheel or 4 Wheel Drive to navigate the drive up and down the hill just in case of an ice storm. We have salt and sand barrels strategically located along our private drive for this situation. The views during the winter are Icelandic which I find more beautiful than during the summer. You see the snow-covered lake under the moon and stairs night. Other than that, it’s almost pitch dark out there which is so cool because there is hardly any house lights around the lake during the winter. This is especially true on our side of the lake which is comprised mostly of wetlands preventing residential development along the lake waterfront. My absolute favorite time is Autumn when the enveloping forest literally explodes with yellows, reds and orange. Our home is positioned on top a hill which boasts the most breathtaking views of Lake Bellaire which are astounding all year round. It’s one of the most unique panoramic views that you will ever see.
