The Birch Kawartha is on a large lot so there is plenty of room and space to play and relax on Mitchell Lake. There is a large flat grassy area and fire pit outside for guests to enjoy. This is a great place to make memories and share moments together that will last a lifetime. 10 minute drive from beautiful Balsam Lake Provincial Park, which has scenic hiking trails, a beautiful and clean beach with swimming, picnic areas and a kids playground. We provide our guests with a provincial park pass for unlimited day use throughout your stay for one car. Travelling with small children? Let us know! Our cottage is very family-friendly with lots of toys, books, games, a sandbox, kids life jackets, mini Muskoka chairs and a mini picnic table. We also have two pack n’ plays, a portable high chair (lobster chair) and bed rails available for guest use. Guest access You and your guests will have access to the entire cottage as well as a private dock along approximately 100 feet of waterfront including water toys. Other things to note For more pictures, check us out on Insta, FB @thebirchkawartha Important: No bedding (sheets/pillow cases/linens/blankets/duvets) or towels are provided. Guests are required to bring their own. Only dish towels will be provided. Well trained pets are welcome but must be pre-approved. Mitchell Lake is known for it’s peaceful atmosphere, gorgeous sunsets and fishing, however, it is a weedy lake. It is fantastic for wading or playing in the shallow water by the dock, canoeing, paddle boating, relaxing on floaties etc., however, it is not ideal for distance swimming. We recommend that guests bring water shoes or crocs. This cottage is not suitable for parties.
