Welcome to Hacienda de las Rosas, retreat, and home of Hacienda Happy Tails, an Animal Sanctuary. We are a husband and wife team who grew up in the city and had dreams of owning a place where we could welcome friends, family, & maybe some animals! When we first saw our place, we fell in love with the views, yet we never imagined becoming a sanctuary for animals (and humans too)! As parents, our only regret is not doing this sooner! Now we would love to share our 5-acre farm with you! The space We believe our place is truly special!! We are an interactive farm experience. We are home to rescued alpacas, horses, mini horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, cats, and sheep that have been rehomed to our place. Your stay helps us provide a happy forever home to them! Many of our animals have special stories. For this reason, we love it when our guests love and interact with our animals! They are here to receive all the love and attention possible! During their stay, guests receive a free animal meet and greet (value of up to $35 per person on Airbnb experience). Guests get to hear the story of our animals, feed them snacks, and learn about animal care. It is an unforgettable experience, you don’t want to miss! Our farm is 35 minutes from Sequoia National park. We are located on a beautiful 5-acre farm surrounded by olive, citrus, and walnut trees. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and the farm. The walking trails to Kaweah River are just what you need! We live in the main house on the farm. The Casita is a separate detached house and is 1440 sq. feet. The Farmstay has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, an office, a full kitchen, 2 dedicated workspaces (perfect remote working and distancing learning for students) a laundry room with a washer and dryer. We have high-speed internet (25 upload & 5 download) for streaming and zooming. We also have many streaming apps- Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Hulu, and Discovery+. This farm-stay is perfect for a romantic getaway, girls’ trip, baby moon, anniversary getaway, trip to the Sequoia National Park, family trip, etc. The Casita, is newly renovated to help our guests feel pampered while enjoying all the workings of a modern farm. The backyard is an extension of the Casita; the barn is a perfect picture spot which has hosted weddings and showers. This farm stay is an experience . Come help us feed alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and horses. Please note that also may have workshops or events in the spring -fall. We may need to use the barn in the evenings. You may join our workshops with special pricing. Guest access Our guests will have access to the 1440 sq. Casita de las Rosas. Additionally, we invite you to enjoy our property. We have a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, for you to make s’mores and memories. We will gladly provide you with a animal feeding experience. We encourage our guests to enjoy helping us feed our alpacas, goats, sheep, bunnies, and horses. Come learn farm life with us! Other things to note Some things to keep in mind about farm life: 1) Bring comfortable clothes, shoes and bug spray. 2) It gets extremely dark at night. Please watch your step. 3) The farm changes month by month and season by season. Every month is different and beautiful. 4) We have great neighbors with animals-cows and horses. We enjoy them, pet them when appropriate, and respect them. 5) The farm takes a lot of upkeep, we ask that you help us keep it beautiful, organized, and clean. 6) Currently, we have 6 alpacas, 5 goats, 2 sheep, 2 bunnies, 13 chickens, and 4 horses, 4 mini-horses, 5 dogs, 2 rabbits, and I complicated cat. You may cuddle, pet, interact, and feed them. 7) We love animals and that is why we love farm life. 8)We welcome pets, yet for the safety of our guests, we ask that pets not go on furniture or beds. 9) Each pet equals one guest. For example, 2 adults, 2 children, and one cat= 5 guests. 10) We have trail access that leads to the Kaweah River. We will provide you access, but please be careful the river gets really high. 11) We provide breakfast items on the first morning of your stay. 12) For the safety of our guests, shoes are not worn indoors. 13) We are home to Hacienda Happy Tails, farm animal retirement/non-profit, so at times you may see other volunteers come by. 14) Slow down, breathe the fresh air, put the cell phone aside, and have fun!
