Description

Cozy, curated cabin in NW Connecticut—just over 2 hrs from NYC by car or train. Nestled above the Housatonic River, it’s a place to hike, antique, or do nothing at all. Watch wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, and the occasional fox wander through the yard. Toast s’mores by the fire pit, then stargaze beneath a wide, quiet sky. The Appalachian Trail and some of the best hikes in the Northeast are just steps away. A peaceful escape in every season—recharge with nature, friends, or the stillness itself. The space The cabin sits along a designated scenic route that winds beside the Housatonic River. In spring, summer, and fall, you’ll occasionally see bikers and backpackers passing through. There’s plenty of land for short morning hikes right on the property, and you’re within walking distance of a beautiful waterfall and the Appalachian Trail—not to mention some of the best canoeing, kayaking, and fly-fishing in the Northeast. Just five miles away is one of America’s most scenic covered bridges (as voted by Travel & Leisure) in West Cornwall. We’re a little over two hours by car from NYC. Prefer the train? The last stop on the MTA Harlem Line is Wassaic, about 20 minutes from the cabin by cab (happy to share a local number). If I’m around and available, I can sometimes offer pickup for a small fee—just ask. The town of Falls Village is an easy 20-minute walk over the bridge, and charming spots like Salisbury, Millerton, and West Cornwall are all just a 10-minute drive. I’m happy to share my favorite country stores, farm stands, hikes, and restaurants. This cabin is my home. It’s filled with books, curiosities, and the quiet kind of magic you can only find in places you truly love. I hope you feel the same while you’re here. Guest access You will have the entire place to yourself. Other things to note We have a bedroom upstairs and a bedroom The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests, with a queen bed upstairs, a full bed downstairs, and a pull-out couch in the living room for extra cozy accommodations. Please note: the bathroom is located downstairs and is accessed through the downstairs bedroom. We’re located about a mile from the historic Lime Rock Park raceway. During the warmer months, you may occasionally hear the sound of cars from the track—typically on weekdays, with only one weekend day allowed for racing. It’s limited to daytime hours and hasn’t ever felt disruptive in my experience, but worth noting if you're sensitive to sound.
