Essie's Room near Hillsdale College
Essie's Room is located off the stair case (not used by guests) going to the kitchen. The custom built and detailed iron bed was made by Brian and Linda in the carriage house studio. The room includes a night stand, dresser and clothes closet. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub with shower. While it is the smallest of the rooms it is very cozy and intimate. At busy times Essie’s room always rents first. We have a 2 night minimum stay for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The space Essie’s room is a peaceful place that just makes you feel good. While it is the smallest of all the rooms at the Broad Street Manor it is first to smell the fresh coffee or even the smell of some delightful baked treat from Linda's kitchen. Breakfast is served each day starting at 8-8:30 am. Coffee and tea is available starting at 7-7:30 am. During the summer months we serve breakfast on deck off the kitchen and breakfast room. It is a lovely area filled with flowers and looks out into the rear gardens. Guest access You will have use of the main living room, the sun room and media room. Breakfast will be available and also has its own dedicated television circuit. This area is off limits after 9 pm each evening. We have a strong WiFi signal so having a good connection is not a problem. During your stay The hosts (Brian and Linda) live in the residence and are available to check in guests. They are always available by cell phone if needed. Linda and Brian area creators and make cool things. The carriage house is where they work with glass, metal and wood. Other things to note Broad Street us a main Michigan highway that comes through Hillsdale. It can be noisy at times with the truck traffic but we are used to it and really don't hear. Generally that type of traffic is during daylight business hours.
