The Julius vacation home is located in a small mountain village on Lake Constance, right on the border with Switzerland. Schienen is a district of the municipality of Öhningen on the Höri peninsula. The space Our vacation home is an old farmhouse that has been family-owned for many generations. It was renovated with a lot of passion in 2021. Only the exterior facade has not yet been completed. Inside, however, everything is prepared for you: a new bathroom / toilet, a new kitchen, new beds and mattresses, freshly restored furniture, etc. (see photos). Our accommodation is suitable for allergy sufferers (no pets, equipped with appropriate mattresses and bed linen, floor coverings). Ground floor Via the hallway you can reach the cozy living room with couch, sitting area, TV and tiled stove. Next door is the well-equipped kitchen with electric stove, oven, wood stove and dining area. Behind it is the small bathroom with walk-in shower and a separate toilet. TOP FLOOR Here are the 3 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with a double bed (2 × 2 m), Bedroom 2 with two single beds (1 × 2 m - can also be pushed together to form a double bed), Bedroom 3 with a pull-out guest bed (0.90 × 2 m). outdoor area There is a small, fenced garden with seating, in the warm months also with the possibility for barbecuing. There is a secure storage facility for your bicycles. Parking for 2 cars is available in front of the house. Important to know: Our house is newly renovated, but it remains an old building. Please note that the room height in the upper rooms is sometimes only about 2 m. In addition, the house is certainly more susceptible to sound than a new building. The bathroom is located - as is not uncommon in old houses - on the first floor behind the kitchen. The house is equipped with a radiator in each room (central heating) - except in the kitchen. Here, a new wood-burning stove quickly provides pleasant warmth. Of course, we will provide the wood required for this. Other things to note Schienen is 600 m above sea level. - you should consider this especially when traveling by bicycle. The cellular network in our mountain village is only partially covered. You can get a good connection with the Telekom network (D1). There is no connection via Vodafone and O2. However, you can use Wi-Fi in the house free of charge - also for Wi-Fi phone. The third bedroom is available from a booking of 5 people. The price does not include the local visitor's tax. This is €1.70 per day of stay and person from 15 years in the main season (04/01 – 10/30), €1.20 in the low season (11/01 – 03/31) and must be paid on site. In return, you will receive a guest card for free public transport as well as a discount on Untersee shipping, reduced admission to museums and cheap rental fees for bicycles or boats.
