The Boat House was once a tin boat shed with floors open to the water and housed two boats. Today, you will find warm, cozy furnishings, comfortable beds, a quiet location and sunsets every evening! The space The only way to be closer to the lake is to be a FISH! You will never want to leave! This is the PERFECT Honeymoon Suite! Mount Dora is known for its historic downtown (founded in1880) with antiques, unique gift shops and award winning restaurants all owned and operated by locals.... You won't find any mega-chains here. Enjoy a cup of coffee and a peanut butter cookie at Allison A's Bakery or a glass of wine and some live entertainment at Maggie's Attic. Try our top notch fine dining at local favorites The Goblin Market, The Olive Branch, 1921, Pisces Rising and The Lakeside Inn. The live entertainment and excellent fish and chips at the Magical Meat Boutique can't be beat. Enjoy the holiday lights from the balcony at One Flight Up and try the Cheesy Onion Dip or stop by The Salted Fry and try the best truffle fries and tuna melt EVER! Fiesta Grande is popular for their delicious food and vegan options, and 2 in 1 Margaritas everyday -- And don't forget to get ice cream at Scoops on 5th and breakfast at Cody's on 4th.... too many to list! You will discover so many more restaurants and shops during your stay and we hope you will share your favorites. Farmers Market every Sunday 9-2, walk up the street. Palm Island Park - Walk through downtown and past the Historic Lakeside Inn and Mt. Dora Marina until you find Palm Island Park - a long boardwalk over Lake Dora and hiking in the woods which is a great place to walk a dog. You will most likely spot an alligator or two in the water. Fish right from the Boathouse. Pets are welcome. $95 (total) pet fee per pet. Please send a photo of your pet with your booking. Other things to note The Boat House is a waterfront studio cabin over Lake Dora. It has a queen sized murphy bed which is very convenient to pull down and push back up every day. Its easier than making a bed! And is very comfortable. There is also a couch that can be made into a bed (sleeper sofa). These beds are open in the same space as the living area. (No separate bedroom) This works well for couples and families. In the closet, you will find a foam mattress topper for the sleeper sofa adding extra comfort.
