Listen to the roaring motors of boats zooming through the channel. Grab a bevy! Chill out by the campfire after a fun day in the sun. Gaze at the countless stars from a Muskoka chair at your fire pit in the front yard. Your tranquil island getaway awaits you. A charming waterfront space that is ready for your stay♡ Before booking, please read the entire description. It will help set expectations. Or at LEAST read the big bullet points ;) ● We live on-site with 2 guardian dogs (a maremma sheepdog & a maremma/border collie). They will more than likely make their way over for a quick visit during your stay. They're well-trained & very friendly. ● Bring water to drink (the water here is from a well; it's fine for showering & doing dishes). ● "Bunkies" are bedrooms that are not attached to the main building. 4 are side-by-side with a screened in porch & 2 are front-to-back. They are just a short walk away from the kitchen/bathrooms. ● Located on an island; access is by drive-on ferry. Getting on costs $8 but leaving the island is free. While there are 2 drive-on ferries, cars or trucks towing trailers will need to take the big ferry on the west end of the island. There are only houses on the island so please plan your trip accordingly. Be sure to bring all your groceries with you! ● Any additional guest over the limit of 15 will be subject to a charge of $100/person/night. ☆FEATURING:☆ ♡ Beautiful 1000 Islands waterfront! ♡ ▪︎6 bunkie style bedrooms, each with a super comfy QUEEN bed & views of the Bateau Channel. All bedding & linens can be provided for a linens fee of $250. This cost is automtically included in the cleaning fee. If you want to bring your own linen, we will reimburse the fee. ▪︎2 are front-to-back. Bringing a baby? One of these bunkies has a crib! A Pack 'n' Play (playpen) may be available if 2 babies are coming, so just let us know! ▪︎An amazing screened-in front porch in the 4 bunkie set-up...a place where you can retreat, play cards, hang out with friends, listen to the birds, watch the river, feel the breeze, catch up on some reading. ▪︎ PRIVATE (exclusive to your group) main Lodge with a kitchen/dining area featuring a stinning stone fireplace & 2 bathrooms (1 towel + washcloth are provided). ▪︎Our "Lodge" (totally private to your group) is the lower level of the grey stone building shown. Above it is a tastefully decorated enclosed cottage, with its own queen sized bedroom with twin pullout bed, ensuite bathroom with shower, kitchen & living space. It also has a wraparound deck with another BBQ, dining set & patio furniture with gorgeous sunset views of the Bateau! There are many provincial islands close by where you can explore/picnic! ▪︎Fish/swim/kayak on-site. ▪︎Check out local attractions in Gananoque, including: 1000 Islands Playhouse (theatre), 1000 Islands History Museum, Joel Stone Heritage Park with public playground, splash pad & sandy beach, Marble Rock Conservation Area, Gan Brewing Co., Tree Top Trekking located between Kingston & Brockville (look them up, as reservations are required), Boiler Room Climbing Gym in Kingston, 1000 Islands Boat Museum, 2 or 5 hour cruises on the Gananoque Boat Line, numerous shops/galleries, helicopter tours, kayaking day trips, Brockville Aquatarium, Brockville railway tunnel, & so much more. Join us for lunch at one of our favourite waterfront restaurants! ☆With 4 other rental cottage spaces on the surrounding properties, Hideout on Howe is set up to entertain many guests at the same time. This cottage has its own dock & waterfront space. The volleyball court is shared among guests. As a heads up: If you plan on doing some fishing here during your stay, you need to have a valid fishing license (can be purchased inexpensively online for weekly use) & your own equipment (rod, lures, worms, etc.). Always stocked are appliances, dishes & cookware. We have lots of parking. Guests have full access to both units (separate upstairs & lower spaces) & to the waterfront, fire pit, BBQ & dock. Other things to note This cottage is one of six on private property. The owners live in one and the others may be rented out. Our cleaners thoroughly clean the space before guests' arrival. We always wash and change all bedding and towels. To assist with a quick turnover, please leave the space tidy. Let us collect all laundry. We are creating a family-based experience at our retreat, not a party atmosphere.
