Villa Oscar is on a forested ridgetop five minutes from Langley. Our picturesque entry is through our fir, spruce and cedar forest via a sloping gravel drive. It faces south and west overlooking our vineyard, with Bard and Horned owls, Red Tail hawks, quail, coyotes and deer. Oscar has a kitchenette/eating area overlooking the vineyard, comfy sitting/sleeping area with Queen bed, electric fireplace, large up-scale bathroom with shower, large deck with gas BBQ griil, GENERATOR for entire site. The space Villa Oscar's design is influenced by and constructed, in part, of components from a turn of the century building donated by Whidbey Telecom. This is a unique vacation experience, well appointed, comfortable and cozy in design. Oscar sits on six acres of fir, spruce and cedar forest, accessed by a sloping gravel drive to the upper meadows above Langley, our Village by the Sea on Whidbey Island. Oscar is available all year and offers peaceful, quiet relaxation in close proximity to shops, restaurants, wineries, pubs, theaters, fine art galleries and whale watching in Saratoga Passage from downtown Langley. Guest access Guests self check-in from two designated parking spaces adjacent to cottage; and are within 40 yards of the town entry from our gate. There are five steps up to the entry deck. Drive time is five minutes, walking is 15 minutes to the center of town. Langley is a unique waterfront town noted for its home to artists, musicians, writers, festivals and creative events, and of course, local characters. The cottages are accessed by a sloping gravel drive through the forest. Other things to note The Ridge is home to the hosts in an upper meadow compound, with two Labrador Retrievers, friendly and energetic. The cottages are in their own special outdoor area with vineyard and grassy meadow, quiet and peaceful with owls, hawks, ravens, jays and hummingbirds among other species such as deer and coyotes; and just a few cute rabbits. Guests staying more than a week have access to on-site laundry facilities.
