Benning/Columbus & Auburn/Opelika *Additional homes available for large groups •message us to help plan your stay The space We have lovingly named our 4.5 acres the Herons Nest. On the property we have the main house on the water in which we live. Additionally there is a guesthouse (Blue Heron), cottage (Green Heron) and Lodge (Driftwood Lodge) that are Short-term Rentals that can be rented separately or together but are spaced out enough that you have your own space and privacy. Each have their own individual fire pits, hammocks, patios. The Blue and Green Herons homes share the pier, boat ramp and boathouse located in front of the main house, and a pier/dock and picnic area to the rear of the houses. You also have a designated beach area with chairs and loungers for your use. The Driftwood Lodge has its own amenities. The Blue Heron Guesthouse has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath with an open concept and would be perfect for a couple’s getaway or a guys or gals trip. The guest house offers private outdoor space including a back patio with lake views, hot tub, hammock, grill and fire pit area. You will feel right at home and relaxed with the tremendous water views and serenity. Each bedroom has a super comfortable queen size bed as well as a sleeper sofa. If the weather is less than ideal, enjoy some sports or movies with cable and free wi-fi or play one of the many board or card games that are available. The kitchen is ideal with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove top and refrigerator as well as a full kitchen including pots, pans, blender and more. After a day on the lake come back to a comfortable living room with fantastic water views or choose to grill and chill with the gas grill and covered outdoor dining area also with an awesome water view. The outdoor space is the key to the home and makes this the perfect lake retreat! If you want to fish or just watch the sunset, enjoy the shared long pier with a gazebo and floating dock to tie up your water toys, one of the two piers on the property. You don’t even have to find a boat launch, just use the one on the property to start your lake fun. If you just want to relax, enjoy the shared sandy beach with a swimming area or just lounge away soaking up the sun. If you just want to hang out in the shade and read a book or take a nap, jump into the hammock and just relax or sit at the covered picnic table and enjoy food and the lake views. Top the evening off, by having a bonfire in the fire pit area making s’mores and memories. Guest access While staying at the Blue Heron Guest House, guests are able to access our pier, beach, and boat ramp. A floating dock and pier are also available for your use so bring your fishing pole or we have some for you to use, just need your Alabama or Georgia fishing license. Available for your free use is kayaks, paddle boat, paddle board and various sizes of life vests upon your requests. The boathouse with the boat lift and jet ski are for the host's use only. Only the specific guests noted in the booking are allowed on the premises without prior approval from the host. Please read carefully: LIABILITY WAIVER You understand that fishing, swimming, jumping from any platforms or structures, fire pit, or kayaks is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with any of these activities. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from these activities, and hold owner harmless. You understand there are potential dangers that these activities present to children who are not carefully supervised, as well as to individuals with health risks. You also accept all risk from engaging in these activities while on drugs, alcohol, pregnant or using medication. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against owner for accidents or claims arising from any of these activities but not limited to those listed above.
