History still streaks this town like veins of gold through hard granite! Annual Festivals: June: Reno Rodeo (close to downtown ) July: Arts Month! so much fun! Free concerts, paid concerts, and restaurants with music. Its the best month in my humble opinion. August: Hot August Nights ( sooo fun! 6000 vintage cars and concerts from the olden days). Greek Festival September: Street Vibrations, ( motorcycles) Hot Air Balloon Races ( very fun) October: Italian Festival- worth it! Just a block away! Other things to do: I have info in the unit for things to do as well.. here are just a few ideas: ~Take a photo of the "The biggest little city in the world " Sign. ~Search for wild horses- the majority of wild horses in the US live in NEVADA! ~Relive the area’s wild gold-mining days with a trip to old Virginia City. This is one of my favorite places to go. Check out this cute old town, where you may sense ghosts of miners and see real live wild horses. ~Hike in the Sierra Nevada mountains (14 million years old) minutes from the condo. Check out the hiking book in the condo. Other Popular Attractions include: ~Incline Village at Lake Tahoe or Truckee town on the way to Tahoe. ~Take to the slopes on skis or snowboard at this world-class downhill ski resort located in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The village also offers excellent dining, nightlife, and casinos. For more information, contact the Incline Village/Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau. ~National Automobile Museum (The Harrah Collection) The 105,000-square-foot facility features four exhibit galleries dedicated to the history of the automobile from the turn of the 20th century to the modern era. Other Local Reno Activities: ~Nevada Museum of Art ~Walk along the Truckee River on the Riverwalk ~Rent a bike or e-scooter at the riverwalk and ride along the Truckee River which connects Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake! It’s a 54-mile ride one way, but of course, you don’t have to go that far! ~Take a train or drive to Truckee- near Lake Tahoe- Cute little artistic town with restaurants. ~Go to a Symphony, or the theatre –check out the visitor information guides in the condo for exact dates of shows, etc. ~Enjoy the sauna, hot tub, and steam room at Silver Legacy Resort spa across the street. Tell them you are from the Belvedere, and you might get a discount. ( I did) It normally costs $20 for a day pass. ~Check out the Wilbur D. May Arboretum in Rancho San Rafael Park ( just minutes from the condo). It's a lovely walk. You can hike to the `N’ too. Panoramic views of Reno. ~Enjoy Sparks Marina Aquatic park. ~Soak in a Natural hot springs. ~Drive to Pyramid Lake. ~Visit the Black Rock Desert. ~Check out the great restaurants along the riverwalk, (Wild River Grill is my favorite) or around town. ~Ride the Carnival rides at Idlewild Park ~Hike to the `N’ seen outside my condo on the far right on the Sierra Nevada Mountains. ~Go Fishing, kayaking, skiing.. playing golf. ~Hiking – check out the hiking book in the condo. ~Go to Animal Park. ~You must visit Lake Tahoe- food, hikes, views.. the Lake! Rent a boat or a jet ski, take pictures, bike..or if its winter, go skiing or snowboarding. I suggest driving to Truckee, having lunch, then going to Tahoe City for various views at Lake Tahoe, more shopping, and wandering around if you want, then heading back to Reno from Tahoe City. ~Check out the Shopping at various malls around town.
