Welcome to our retreat in the Smithfield Valley, between the charming towns of Amenia, Millerton and Millbrook, and near the ski slopes of Catamount, Mohawk and Butternut. Our house overlooks the Elk Ravine farm, surrounded by scenic woods on a 10+ acre estate. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, sleeps 9, a spiral staircase into a kids loft, a media room with fold-out bed, hot tub, BBQ grill, firepit, large lawn, parking for up to 4 cars, a high-grade HEPA air purifier, and more. The space Our home has 3 bedrooms, sleeps 9, a media room, an open kitchen, dining and living room areas, 3 full bathrooms, 2 king beds, a queen bed, bunkbeds, a sleeper sofa and two large decks with nice views. We have wall A/C units in all of the bedrooms and living room areas so it stays nice and cool in the summer months. Our large main deck has a gas BBQ grill and table and chairs that are perfect for outside dining. The other, more secluded deck has a hot tub, outside shower and chaise deck chairs. There is a very big side yard for yard games and endless, safe kid entertainment plus a tree swing. We have just installed a new firepit as well. We also have a powerful gas-fired generator that maintains 100% energy supply in the unlikely but not impossible event of a power outage. We have a high-grade HEPA air purifier to help those with seasonal allergies, and in the event of any smokey air days like we experienced in summer 2023. * NOTE on PETS: We don’t own pets, and try to limit the frequency of pet visits. Please inquire, as we consider them on a limited basis (i.e., smaller / hypoallergenic dogs, must have their own bedding, and be well-behaved), and for an additional surcharge. Of course, service animals are allowed. Also a NOTE on the seasonality of certain amenities: we turn off water to the outdoor shower during the cold months so that the internal piping does not freeze and burst (the hot tub is still functional tho!). We also remove the hammock, porch lounge chairs and the large umbrella from the porch until the weather warms up. Guest access We are up a long driveway and tucked back into the woods on 10 acres. You will need a car to get around but the charming towns of Amenia, Millbrook, Millerton and Sharon (CT) are walkable and very close by. The closest train station is the last stop on the Metro North Harlem line at Wassaic, a mere 10 minute drive. Other things to note What is unique about our home is how secluded it feels, yet the views are expansive. Stargazers - this is your place! We also have a dedicated media room, a lovely hot tub, outdoor shower (available during warm weather), a large outside deck and plenty of parking. We also have a back-up generator, which is essential in a country home, no matter the weather! Always there if and when you need it.
