the Cape Lookout is a large, 4 bdrm Cape, situated on 7 acres w/ 650 feet of shore front on Frenchman Bay, surrounded by tranquil forest, yet with easy access to the village of Bar Harbor and all the sites of Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island. You'll see eagles almost daily, hear loons in season, be serenaded by wood thrushes. Spacious deck w/ a view to the bay, enclosed porch w/ dining & sitting areas. Comfy lvg rm, fully equipped kitchen, 2 baths, Sonos, ca. 1,600 sq ft The space the Cape Lookout is located on Hadley Point in Bar Harbor. It is about 5 minutes drive from Trenton Bridge, 10 minutes to the village of Bar harbor, and 6 minutes to the nearest entrance to Acadia National Park at Hull's Cove. It is a quiet, secluded setting with conveniences such as restaurants within a few minutes. It has distant views of Frenchman Bay and is waterfront property, but access is difficult. Easy 2 min drive to get to Hadley Point beach. The house is our most recently added property and is still being furnished. Everything will arrive within a week. The ground floor has a bedroom, living room, one bath, full modern kitchen, a year round porch with lots of windows, and a deck with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. The largest bdrm with a queen and sitting area and its own almost private bathroom is in the walkout basement. The loft area is huge with 5 skylights and 2 large windows in the gable ends. There are two queen beds. Guest access Guests are welcome to use whatever they can find in the house and they have the complete and exclusive use of the house during their stay. There is on site parking for four cars, easily. The Island shuttle, aka, the LL Bean bus, stops at Hadley Point, which is a 2 minute drive from the Cape Lookout, but your car will make things easily accessible. Other things to note Dogs are welcome, but not cats. There is a pet fee of $150 per pet per stay for one or two dogs. If you have more than two or your dog is more than 50 lbs, please be in touch with the host. the Cape Lookout is furnished and appointed for your comfort, convenience, and enjoyment. There is a Sonos system to stream music. Wifi is strong. Cell phone coverage is pretty good, but it is Maine, after all. There is a line phone for your use, too. We stock the kitchen with all the equipment you need to do any kind of cooking you like, including all the usual appliances, like microwave, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishwasher, etc., and general seasonings and basic kitchen supplies such napkins, paper towels, coffee filters, plastic wrap, tin foil, baggies, etc. There is every day dinnerware, plus a set of Edelstein Bavarian china for your use. We hope you'll enjoy the artwork, which is mostly original work by Maine artists. e have an exceptional team preparing for your stay or on call in the event of any needs that might arise. Communication between host and guest is very important. Please pay careful attention to any emails or texts from us. Once you confirm your reservation, we will send you a copy of the rental agreement which contains important information and we will send the full user's guide about a month prior to your arrival by email.
