The Byron Beach Cabin Our large (70m3) contemporary self-contained beach style cabin with private entrance is in a peaceful garden setting and all linen including beach towels is included. The cabin has a high pitched ceiling in the lounge room, with two sets of glass sliding doors overlooking the beautiful native gardens. The separate one pillow topped queen-size bedroom also has large glass sliding doors opening onto the verandas with tranquil views of the garden. There is a spa bath in the light and airy bathroom and the toilet is separate. An additional outdoor open air shower with hot and cold water is located next to the cabins rainwater tank. The wide shady verandas with hammock, indoor ceiling fans and spa bath add to the ambience of comfortable relaxation in a natural setting. The kitchenette is fully equipped with a bar fridge, Convection/ Grill/ Combo Microwave Oven , single electric hob, Electric frypan, toaster and electric kettle. The cabin has is own private BBQ located on verandah and laundry facilities are also available. We are close to the lesser known Broken Head Nature Reserve which contains rainforest next to the sea with secluded beach coves some with views towards Cape Byron Lighthouse. The headlands are ideal for dolphin watching or seasonal whale watching and great for a picnic. Take in the regions state forests, national parks and world heritage listed rainforests. Glen and Caroline are very kind, helpful people who not only gave us great tips for places to visit in the local area, but Caroline also lent me books and gave me lots of useful information about her recent overseas trip as we are planning to go to the same destination in a few weeks. We stayed here as part of our minimoon (mini honeymoon!) in December and thoroughly enjoyed it! The property is a little cabin at the back of the main house, completely separate so this offers great privacy. I liked the little touches of nice local soap to use, little pot of love hearts to eat and.. a Webber BBQ for us to use, the really comfortable hammock, as well as clear instructions on what to do for recycling including using food scraps for their mango garden! The cabin is round the corner from Suffolk park and has everything you need in walking distance, be it pub, pizza, shops, post office - the lot. We did choose to drive into Bryon every day instead of Suffolk park beach but next time I think I'll do the later' - its just me being scared of no lifeguard beaches and the waves were big. There's apparently a lovely walk around there too that I'd love to check out next time. The owners themselves were lovely, it was great to have a nice chat with them and we definitely feel we'd be welcomed back as though we were friends. The large decking area was the ideal spot to have a relaxing glass of wine while listening to the many birds and the ocean nearby. Only a few minutes drive to Byron Bay meant we had the best of both worlds whilst having the convenience of the shopping centre around the corner in Suffolk Park. Lovely hosts and very helpful with their knowledge of the surrounding areas. The most memorable moment was walking down to Suffolk Beach a night and gazing at the clearest and most star filled sky we had ever seen.
