Bent Canoe Farm Guest House
This is a late 1800s farm house on my family farm. It has been fully remodeled and infrastructure updated but retains the simple architecture of the period farm house. Located one mile East of Gambier (Kenyon College), it's site overlooks the Kokosing River and is a short walk to the Kokosing Gap Bike Trail. Includes a fully furnished kitchen, three bedrooms and two baths. The wrap around porch overlooks the river and surrounding pasture. Enjoy the secluded, quiet, pastoral setting. Farm livestock include Katahdin sheep and Nifty the guard Llama. During summer months, bring your canoe or kayaks and enjoy exploring the Kokosing River from this home base, or wade the river and hook yourself a few small mouth bass. If you bring your bikes and explore the Kokosing Gap Trail, miles of paved, scenic path (former railroad bed) to explore to the east or west of Gambier. Guest access includes entire house and surrounding yard with picnic tables, grill, and fire pit. The Kokosing River is accessible along the west border of the property. I am at the farm daily to check on livestock and do needed work. We leave you your privacy, but I'm readily available with a phone call for any questions or assistance needed during your stay. The Gambier area is a small college town in a predominantly agricultural environment. Though you're free to move and play about the large lawn area, we do ask that you not enter the pastures the livestock graze. They can be easily frightened by strangers and suffer unintended harm.
