The Taunton to Bridgwater canal is within 2 minutes walking distance from the property. Ideally situated for visiting many of Somerset's attractions including the Willow and Wetland centre. The space The Woodcroft has a decking area which leads from the open plan living area. From the patio chairs the views across the countryside are lovely. Within the 3 acres you can wander amongst the trees and ancient fruit orchard and in the autumn pick your own fruit. The canal is only a minutes walk from the gates and you will be treated to a wealth of wildlife as you stroll along the towpath. Recently the Somerset Boat Centre has opened near Maunsel Lock and here you can rent canoes, kayaks or self drive motor boats. There is also a pretty cafe on the edge of the canal. The property is ideally situated to visit many of Somerset's attractions. It is situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels on the outskirts of West Lyng and close to the Willow and Wetland Centre where you can visit and watch items being made from withys. In the past they have made baskets for Fortnum and Mason and props for films. This is the only place left in the U.K. still growing willow commercially.
