Anahata Lodge Retreat House

Anahata Lodge is a private 2 bedroom rustic house on a private lake on a beautiful ranch in Vallecito. You are surrounded by oak forest and the stars are outstanding. It is close to Murphys for wine tasting and Bear Valley for winter skiing. We are located about halfway between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe and 25 min from Big Trees state park and the giant sequoias. The great room attached to the house is perfect for workshops, dance, yoga and retreats. Group rental by separate arrangement. The space The retreat house is located at the edge of our private lake where you can relax on your deck and often spot Canada geese, ducks, herons, egrets, wild turkeys and other wildlife. This is the perfect setting to escape from the stress of daily life and have a retreat in a wonderful natural setting. Relax and soak up the natural environment at the retreat house, take a short hike to the top of our ridge, or get out and explore the high Sierra region. Note that the lake is sometimes very low in the summer if it doesn't get enough rain in the winter. The high Sierra and high alpine lakes await up Highway 4, and Columbia state historic park is only 15 minutes away where you can experience an historic gold rush town, complete with gold panning and stage coach rides. The quaint town of Murphys is only 7 minutes away and features over 20 wineries where you can enjoy great wines from this "hidden" wine region in California. Yosemite is also a popular destination for our guests as the entrance is only 1 hour and 20 minutes away. The Rose Room bedroom has two comfy beds in it, a queen bed and a double futon. The second bedroom, the Jasmine Room, is upstairs and has a queen bed. An extra futon bed is available in the great room by prior arrangement. Please contact us if you wish to use that bed, for a small extra fee. We offer onsite massage therapy and Reiki energy therapy sessions. Ask if you are interested. Guest access The private retreat house is away from other houses on our 80 acre ranch and overlooks the lake. This is the perfect place to relax in nature. During your stay, you will have the whole house to yourself, including a full bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans, dishes, and utensils, and there is a full size refrigerator. We have a large parking area that can accommodate several vehicles. You are free to walk around the pond and along our gravel road. Please respect the privacy of the other residential homes on the property. Other things to note In between Airbnb guest bookings, the retreat house is a shared space that is used for retreats and for gatherings by our resident community, who live on the ranch in other homes. The space is not shared during your stay and you will have it all to yourself. Our space is not suitable for pets or service animals because some residents and retreatants are extremely allergic to animal dander and it causes severe health issues for them.
