The Cove Cabin

An original Candlewood style cabin. The house has been updated to offer all modern comforts. It features a large fireplace in the living room, porch over looking the lake, central heat and air conditioning and a fully equipped cook's kitchen. It is on the northern most part of Candlewood Lake with direct, private water access from the shore or the dock. A foam lily pad, two SUP, and two inflatable two person kayaks are available for use from May 1 to November 1.. The space The house nestled into the hillside surrounded by old growth trees and rocky outcroppings. The funicular takes you slowly down from the street to a fairy tale setting looking out over the lake. The gravel path winds from the foot of the funicular past the hammock to the hand hewn front stairs. Inside you will be greeted by the huge picture windows overlooking the lake that dominate house. Even the stove has a view out to the porch and the lake. The house was hand built by the original owners and retains many distinctive and charming touches, such as the phone nook with their address book still on the wall. The modern kitchen has every tool and utensil that you could want to make any meal you can imagine. The spice rack is full. There is a full set of plates, bowls and flatware, quality knives and even a blender. The granite counters offer tons of preparation and presentation space all adjacent to the dining area. The living room is a cozy hide away with a stone fireplace, antique upright piano, stereo and a variety of puzzles, cards, games and books. The cupboard beneath the stereo has children's toys and legos. There is a flat screen TV with access to streaming services and a DVD player with a small selection of movies. The master bedroom is on the main level at the far end of the house. Like all rooms facing the lake it offers a huge picture window facing the lake allowing you to wake up the the morning sun shining on the water. It has vaulted ceilings and a small, custom made vanity/make-up table with roll-up mirror. There is a closet available for guests and three drawers in the dresser. The second bedroom is on the lower level, again with a picture window facing the lake. It has a half-bath ensuite has well as a built-in closet with drawers available for use by guests. Although below the main part of the window still offers a sweeping view of the lake but at a more intimate level. Note that there are no window coverings with the exception of the bathroom. Guest access The house is at the end of a dead end street. There is a single parking space adjacent to the funicular. Additional cars can be parked on the street. Other things to note There is also a staircase down to the house from the street. The boats are available for use from May 1 - November 1.
