Private beach house with stunning views and pool on Award winning Marine Conservancy. The space Situated on a cliff at the north end of Kuruwitu Marine Conservancy, the house enjoys lovely views and gentle breezes. Tastefully furnished and comfortable. It has a mature garden and a fun sundowner deck just above the Indian Ocean. There is a stunning 12 x 6m infinity pool with an attractive pool house with a lounge, dining table and kitchen counter with a gas stove top and fridge. Also nearby is a toilet and changing room. There is a cook, a housekeeper and two groundsman come Maintenance men. The house has good security. Staff quarters can accommodate one extra if required. The master bedroom has its own sectioned off veranda as well as a TV room/nook that can be turned into an extra bed for a child or young adult if necessary. The middle bedroom has a double bed. The rear bedroom has 2 single beds and a bunk bed. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and standing fans in case of preference or power cuts. All bedrooms are ensuite with large bathrooms with showers. There is good free wi-fi. The wifi box can be carried to the poolhouse but please don't leave it there. The sitting/dining area is big and very airy with good security wrought iron all around. It is tastefully furnished in a coastal style with wooden overhead fans and 'lamu beds' as sofa's. There is a games chest with scrabble, poker available upon request for adults only use. There is also a darts board on the roof top for adult use. The kitchen is relatively small compared to the rest of the house and is manned by Reuben who is a competent cook specialising in seafood, curries and swahili style cooking but he has a large repertoire. Pili is the housekeeper and takes care of the laundry and general cleaning, she is sometimes assisted in the house by Jessey or Maryam when we have a full house. Pili is very good with children and can help with babysitting if required. Guest access The house is set in a beautiful mature garden and has direct beach access at low - mid tide. Steps to beach relatively steep for the elderly/infirm. Beach access at high tide (for keen body surfers) or for elderly folk unable to manage the steps is only a couple of hundred metres down the road on the public access route or you can use the popular Vipingo Ridge Beach Club. The pool and beach: Kuruwitu Beach is one of the last unspoilt beaches on the Kenyan coast. Despite it usually being blissfully bare of people and beach boys, it is secure as there are 'askari's' patrolling for the marine conservancy. It is also unusually clean as the conservancy oversee the picking up of the debris that is common along most coastlines. The snorkeling metres off the shore is incredible - coral heads mean an abundance of tropical fish, octopus, lobster. There is a glass bottom boat as well as a fishing/dolphin spotting boat for hire. The conservancy also offer guided tours of the reef where there are even more wonderful snorkeling spots. The beach is busier on a Sunday or public holidays. The infinity pool set in front of the house has a 'baby pool' section. The adjoining pool house is large and comfortable with a kitchen counter and drinks fridge as well as a living and dining area, a water feature and sunbeds. The terrace below the main pool has the balance tank and is not safe for young or unaccompanied children and neither is the sundowner deck on the way down to the beach - this is accessed through a door which is kept locked. Other things to note Neem Tree is a laid back house with lovely staff. However, we have taken trouble to furnish it nicely and there are a lot of personal touches which we expect people to respect. Allowing children to spoil games, play on the darts board and sit on furniture in wet costumes will impact the enjoyment for the next guest. We also are very conscious of the environment and do not allow plastic straws in the house and ask guests to minimise use of plastic, electricity etc where possible and to use briquettes rather than charcoal if using the barbecue. Please respect the sea and the beach - never leaving litter behind or picking up shells or destroying marine life. Reuben is a very good but not a terribly speedy cook and it is wise to keep your menu plans relatively simple. He is not a cordon bleu chef, so please do not expect 3 courses at every meal unless you are prepared to help him in the kitchen particularly if you are with a large group. If you enjoy cooking then Reuben can prepare stuff for you and bring everything down to the poolhouse for you to use on the gas top stove.
