2-bdrm aptmt in the heart of PA's Northern Tier!

2-bedroom apartment has a queen bed in one bedroom, 2 single beds in the second bedroom, & a sofa bed. Walking distance to Tioga River and antique dealers. Nearby - Mansfield University, Wellsboro, PA (home of the Laurel Festival and the Dickens Festival), the PA Grand Canyon, and great hiking, camping, and hunting areas. Please note - 2nd floor - exterior stairs to reach apartment above our detached garage. Our house is next to the garage, but the apartment is totally separate from the house. The space Completely private 2-bedroom apartment over our garage, behind our house. We are there if you need us, but you have a totally private space and free off-street parking adjacent to the stairs. Apartment is fully furnished, including sheets, towels, kitchen linens, kitchen equipment (cups, bowls, plates, silverware, pots and pans, basic cooking tools, appliances: full-size refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven), ironing board and iron, hair dryer. If you're wondering about something specific, please ask. Garage doors: Since the apartment is over the garage, during ingress or egress, our garage door openers are QUITE loud in the apartment. It only lasts for about 30 seconds, but can be surprising if you aren’t expecting it. When we have guests, we do our best to be respectful and use them as little as possible, and only between 7:00am and 10:00pm. Since we are up and out early for work though, if you are with us on a weekday, you will likely hear them around 7:40am, and sometimes I have to leave for work even earlier. Weather permitting, we sometimes park outside to try avoid the noise for our guests. Just want to be open and up front about it! We now have reliable wifi in the apartment. The TV is rather small (about 19") and is not high definition, but it gets the job done. Cell phone service can be spotty in our area, but it is better than it used to be! Guest access Full apartment with a deck and free off-street parking. Up to 2 parking spots are available for the apartment. Please note - we had long term renters for the past 2 years, and are just re-listing on Airbnb starting in October 2025. Other things to note We are in the middle of "downtown" Covington, PA, in walking distant to a couple antique/junk shops, and short driving distant to lots of great Northern Tier activities including state parks, Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA (home of the Fabulous 1890's Festival), Wellsboro, PA (home of the Laurel Festival and Dickens of a Christmas), Blossburg, PA (home of the Coal Festival). About 45 minutes north (35 miles) is Corning, NY (Corning Museum of Glass and quaint Gaffer District) and just beyond that is Watkins Glen (gorgeous waterfalls!) and the Finger Lakes (wine country!). To the south about 45 minutes is Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series). Dogs: While we don't allow pets in the apartment, there is a dog boarder/groomer RIGHT across the street from the apartment. If you are interested in boarding your dog, please contact us and we will give you her contact information. Children: If you are traveling with young children, we do have a Pack-N-Play available and can get it set up for you if you let us know. Additionally, there is also a high chair and baby monitor available. Inside the coffee table is a set of wooden Thomas the Tank Engine tracks and trains, and there should be a few children's books on the bookshelf. Extended stay: if you would like to stay longer than 6 nights, please contact us so we can make an agreement about laundering of sheets and towels and general apartment cleaning. We are generally not interested in long-term guests. We used to rent the apartment out to full time tenants, but stopped doing that to do Airbnb and be able to use the apartment as a guest house for our own guests as needed. Air conditioning: We do not have central air, but we do provide a wall unit in the summer. General: The tub and shower surround could use an update, as well as the carpet needing to be replaced, but it isn't in the budget at the moment. We had long-term tenants in the apartment for several years and the apartment reflects their wear and tear. At this point, we are not able to remodel the apartment, and we think our rates are reasonable and reflect the quality of the apartment as is.
