Deerhaven Cabin in East Sooke - A Hikers Paradise

A log cabin with charm & character, nestled in the hills of East Sooke Park close to the Pacific ocean. With partial views of the Sooke Basin, it is seclusion in one of the world's most naturally beautiful places. Our open-concept log cabin has been designed for the comfort and convenience of guests looking to recharge and explore spectacular nature. The space The cabin has 30 ft ceilings with beautiful log beams, with stairs to the master loft and a ladder to the Eagle's Nest. With lots of places for climbers to take risks and get hurt, our cabin may not be suitable for small, adventurous children. Please make sure our place works for you. The bedrooms are both open lofts, so they do not provide total privacy if you are traveling with friends or multiple couples. The cabin shares 2.5 private acres with our home, but we will leave you to be completely self-sufficient. Of course, we will be available by phone or text should you need anything! Also note that we do have two dogs, Stanley and Gordie, on the property. They bark but are very friendly! Please let us know if you would prefer not to make their acquaintance. Guest access In spring and fall you can enjoy a campfire outside; often in the summer there are campfire bans in place (we will keep you updated with any fire bans). The wood stove and BBQ are always available for use. We provide the firewood. Our property in not fully fenced, so we ask that visiting pets are leashed when outside on the property, so as not to disturb our human (or wildlife) neighbours. Other things to note For winter stays, please note that the only source of heat is the wood burning stove. We provide the firewood and a wood stove manual, but are also happy to pop by and give a tutorial if needed. For summer stays, also note that there is no A/C in the cabin. There are plenty of fans and opening up the doors in the evening gets a good breeze through the cabin. Even during heat waves, East Sooke cools down nicely over night with the ocean breezes.
