La Grairie - peaceful, rural comfort

La Grairie is set in a small hamlet, surrounded by fields and networks of quiet and unspoilt lanes which make it a great place to relax and unwind in the peaceful surroundings. As well as many beautiful beaches and historic towns within easy reach, the area is rich in D-Day history. The market town of Carentan is only 7km away, where all amenities can be found. The cottage is detached and adjacent to the owner’s house; we are on hand to help should you need it, but certainly not to intrude. The space Downstairs is the open-plan living area which leads out to the private and enclosed back garden. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower cubicle. In the garden there is a patio with seating for 6 people, and we provide a BBQ with a bucket of charcoal. To help you relax, there are 2 sun-loungers. The garden overlooks the orchard, where you are free to wander and maybe meet our friendly goats and sheep. We provide a welcome pack to get you started, which includes organic cider from our orchard and some local Camembert. The kitchen is fully equipped with kettle, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, fridge and washing machine. If you feel energetic, we have 2 adult bikes available which you are free to borrow. Although we are in a rural location, we are only 1km from the main road, which means all local attractions are easily accessible. Whether you spend your time out and about, enjoying some of the many attractions in the area, or just prefer lazy days in the garden, there really is something for everyone at La Grairie. Other things to note Please note: the staircase is open-tread. There is a child safety gate at the top of the stairs. English and French TV channels available as well as WiFi connection, but we're not on fibre optic yet so limited signal - ok for checking emails. etc., but not for downloading videos.
