The Purviance House B & B -- Beck Suite
The Purviance House was built in 1859 and features Italianate architecture. Each of our three beautifully appointed suites feature private or en suite baths, fireplace, free WiFi, HDTV, and comfortable seating. We are just a three-minute walk across the river to beautiful downtown Huntington. Five minute drive to Huntington University and Huntington North High School. Five minute drive to the Huntington Municipal Airport. Twenty-five minute drive to Fort Wayne International Airport. The space The Beck Suite: is a spacious 1st floor suite with en suite bathroom. The room features a king sleigh bed, a massive fireplace, unique hardwood floors with warm, plush area rugs and an airtub/shower. It also includes free WiFi, HDTV, and comfortable seating. Fully shuttered windows will provide you with a sense of privacy and seclusion. 12% State and Local Tax will be added at confirmation. Guest access As a guest of the Purviance House Bed and Breakfast, you are welcome to use the spacious Living Room/Library for your relaxation and enjoyment. Warm yourself by the fireplace, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and read a book or work a puzzle. The formal dining room is where you will enjoy your hot breakfast each morning. Barb always has an assortment of snacks, including fresh fruit for you to enjoy. An easy to use Keurig with a wide array of coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available. Guests have the option to be served in the dining room or have a breakfast tray brought to their room. During your stay We always greet guests personally and orient them to the Purviance House. Barb will provide guests with her cell number on arrival and is available to assist as needed. WiFi codes are listed in the room. To the extent guests want to interact with Brooks (Mayor of the City of Huntington) and Barb regarding the history and amenities of the house and community, we are available to visit. Other things to note Barb is very flexible with breakfast serving times. As a retired Registered Nurse, Barb is very accommodating with dietary restrictions. If you would like to enjoy using the various greenways, parks and trails in and around Huntington, let us know and we will let you borrow one of Brooks' (Barb's husband) many bicycles. If you have a motorcycle or bicycle that you want to store in the garage, let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate your request. Downtown Huntington is just a short three minute walk across the Little River -- you can see it from the front door. All sorts of neat shops and delicious eateries are in downtown Huntington. If you like the retro kind of experience, the Dairy Queen, the B & K Rootbeer Stand, Nick's Kitchen, and the Huntington Drive-in Theater are just a few minutes away. We consider ourselves the concierges of Huntington -- let us know what you like to do and we will do our best to set you up for an experience you will enjoy and remember.
